Facing the one attack that had eluded him in his history as a Choujin wrestler, Suguru has finally figured the secret for defeating his teacher Prince Kamehame! But...does this truly mean that Suguru is finally a complete Choujin!?

Chapter 379: Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (106): A Wish Entrusted in Tears!

149.
Suguru: I’ve defeated your Back Flip~~~!!
Announcer: Kinnikuman splendidly slipped through Kamehame’s certain-kill Back Flip, got on top of Kamehame’s head with both hands and is rotating his own body---!!

150.
Suguru: How’s that: the power of the Global Plane Spin, one of the Kamehame 52 Submissions---!!
“Kamehame”: Ugugu……
Mayumi: You’ve done it—Suguru----!!
Announcer: Kinnikuman has made his hands as an axis like a pummel horse in gymnastics and is rapidly increasing the speed of his rotation on top of Kamehame’s head----!!

151.
Phoenix: This…can’t be…! I was thinking it was absolutely inevitable that Kinnikuman would take that Back Flip, the technique he ultimately hated the most from Kamehame, whom he disliked the most, and yet………!!
Neptune: I think that it was almost impossible for Kinnikuman to escape from Kamehame’s Back Flip as it was clearly said…
Neptune: For example, at the moment Kamehame started bend his body, even if he escaped from the Back Flip and ran away to the side…
Neptune: Kamehame would without delay wreathe both of his arms around the trunk of Kinnikuman as he’s escaping to the side
Neptune: And with his body bended, switch from a Back Flip to a Back Drop, striking Kinnikuman’s head to the canvas.

152.
Neptune: And in case Kinnikuman escaped from the Back Flip and ran to the underside…
Neptune: In that case, he’d aim for Kinnikuman, who ran off and would be lying face up on the canvas…
Neptune: And Kamehame, in that case, would bend his body, flop down and skewer Kinnikuman’s body with the back of his head…
Suguru: Gebo
Neptune: If the side if bad and the underside is bad, then naturally the last escape route is only above, but, for example, even if he escaped into the air, there wouldn’t be a sheltering place!!
Neptune: He could have taken shelter to the ceiling lights, but from his immediate stance from escaping from the Back Flip, it would be impossible for him to jump to the height of the lights…!!

153.
Neptune: However Kinnikuman escaped into the air, thinking he would escape from Kamehame’s Back Flip and there wasn’t a sheltering place.
Neptune: And then he discovered a sheltering place that couldn’t even be imagined by us ordinary men: it was, of all things, on top of the head of his enemy Kamehame!!
Neptune: …This was an operation that seemed reckless at a glance, but I can say this was a plan that was extremely logical and calculated! Kinnikuman wouldn’t have been caught with Kamehame’s bad body balance due to his condition of bending his body in the middle of his Back Flip stance, even if Kamehame caught his hands!!
Meat: Making matters worse, because he’s immediately glued to Kamehame’s body, he can easily inflict a counterattack like that to the non-resistant Kamehame!!

154.
Neptune: Kinnikuman has transformed from merely a miraculous come-from-behind fighter that he was until now to an intellectual-style Choujin that can decide calmly the developments of the match due to Kamehame’s combat training---!!
Announcer: Kinnikuman is rapidly increasing the rotation speed of the Global Plane Spin---!!
“Kamehame”: UOO~~~
Announcer: Kamehame’s legs are cramping up and are slowly lowering his stance with the weight of Kinnikuman’s Global Plane Spin---!!
“Kamehame”: U…Uoo…Ki…Kinnikuman, th…this Global Plane Spin truly is one of my 52 Submissions…!
“Kamehame”: You’ve…done well: you’ve mastered all of my 52 Submissions in a short time…

155.
Suguru: A…are you crying, Kamehame?
“Kamehame”: You’ve…done enough. Yo…you’ve now completely made the 52 Submissions your own alongside the 48 Killer Techniques by my combat training……
Suguru: Kamehame, what exactly do you mean by “graduation exam” and “combat training”? Weren’t you loaned the body by Omegaman so you could defeat me---!!
“Kamehame’: E…enough. I can’t hold out against…yo…your attack any further…
Suguru: Master Kamehame!
Announcer: The time has come for Kamehame, the big-shot of Hawaii, to finally fall--!!
Announcer: Kinnikuman, without delay, has showered his body with what’s like a body-Attack to make doubly sure---!!

156.
Suguru: Master Kamehame!
“Kamehame”: Ki…Kinnikuman…let me tell you: why I just taught just the 48 Killer Techniques to you and hadn’t instructed the 52 Submissions…
“Kamehame”: …Choujin are separated into two: Fighters, in short a being whose specialty is flashy attacks and Defenders…beings whose specialty are defending submissions…
“Kamehame’: Ones called Fighters are prided for memorizing flashy attacks, but poor at remembering defensive moves and simple submissions and…Defenders conversely can’t easily memorize flashy attacks…
Suguru: So then there’s a reason I’m a Fighter, because my specialty are flashy techniques like the Back Drop and Drop Kick but is poor at defense and simple submissions…

157.
“Kamehame”: When I instructed the Killer Kamehame Moves to you 6 years ago, you, a fighter that was nearing your match with Jessie Malvia, were taught just the 48 Killer Techniques that were just flashy technique like those you could easily memorize…
“Kamehame”: …And then, within my constant thinking that I couldn’t easily instruct the remaining 52 Submissions as well, I took the fierce attack of the Stray Devil Choujin Combo and died in the Space Tag Tournament 2 years ago…
(TN: I was so tired that I didn't realize this: Kamehame said that it was the Hell Missionaries who killed him...but of course we know it was Sunshine...and...he was on the Stray Devil Combo)
“Kamehame”: Even in that world, it was a target for which I felt regret…today, Omegaman revived me as such from that world so I could defeat Kinnikuman. It was there, indeed, that I appeared to lend a hand to Team Phoenix and instructed the 52 Submissions to you in the middle of this match…
“Kamehame”: However, though I could say that I’ve instructed the 52 Submissions to you somehow, on the outside I was an enemy to you for Team Phoenix. I can’t be that I didn’t have a reason to teach the submissions to you by grabbing your arms and legs……Furthermore; you’re a fighter who is poor at remembering simple submissions. Somehow I thoroughly think the thought of instructing your hated submissions without it being perceived by Team Phoenix…

158.
“Kamehame”: It was there that I actually waged to you the 52 Submission in the midst of my battle with you, having you memorize it while having thoughts of pain.
“Kamehame”: Bu…but I too was insecure at the start at whether or not you would really master the 52 Submissions with this hand-roughing method. Wouldn’t you perhaps take a K.O. loss with strength of the techniques before you memorized the techniques…
“Kamehame”: However, you took and went with the hardships, Kinnikuman: while spewing bloody vomit with the Submissions waged by me, you splendidly escaped the 52 Submissions from me and made them your own with your nature to not lose.

159.
Suguru: I…faced you and showered on that hateful abuse without knowing of the rain of your reason. Forgive me, Master Kamehame!!
(TN: This is a really weird section I tried to TL as best as possible: Suguru states “tsuyu shirazu”, with “tsuyu” as “the rain of the rainy season” or “dew”, but then uses the verb of “abiru”, which is “to shower”…since we had both, I tried to use both in English)
“Kamehame”: You…you’ve called me it…said I’m your master…on…once again…gi…ving a good farewell gift before I return to that world…
Suguru: Do…don’t go back, Kamehame—you have much more you have to teach to me---!!
“Kamehame”: You…you’ve completely surpassed me …I have nothing to teach you anymore. I’m certain you should be good at pulling around all Choujin as a Great King of Planet Kinniku who is tough physically and mentally!!
Announcer: Kamehame’s existence is slowly becoming weakened and he’s returning to his original Omegaman body---!!
Suguru: Master Kamehame---!!
Neptune: N…no: if Kamehame’s existence is erased, then he’ll become the enemy Omegaman. Kinnikuman, quickly get away from him---!!

160.
Omega: Fuo—fuofuo…Kinnikuman, I was worried you would be defeated by Kamehame, but now I’ll defeat you personally!!
Suguru: Gee
Neptune: AAH
Mayumi & Sayuri: AAH
Omega: Uoo—die~~
Announcer: Omegaman, who has released his Kamehame transformation, has widened the five fingers in his back, captured Kinnikuman and is soaring high into the sky---!!

161.
Bibimba: Aah~~that’s the stance of the Omega Catastrophe Drop, the Finishing Hold from when Omegaman defeated Geronimo!
Neptune: N…no: Kinnikuman, no matter how close he is to being the ultimate Choujin, he’ll take that without difficulty!
Phoenix: Don’t forget, Neptuneman: your body is tied to the Roulette String that is connected to your Prophecy……!
Announcer: Omegaman is falling to the canvas with the captured Kinnikuman in the stance for an Omega Catastrophe Drop---!!
Neptune: Kinnikuman, you must survive for the future of the Choujin world!!

162.
Phoenix: That…fool…! That Neptuneman…he cut his Roulette String so he could rescue Kinnikuman!!
Bibimba: Neptuneman-sama’s Prophecy of his fate is in the torch…!!
Omega: You can immediately have a teacher/student meeting with Kamehame in that world, Kinnikuman---!!
Neptune: Will he do that---!!
Announcer: Some silhouette is flying towards Omegaman, who is on the verge of crashing into the canvas in the stance of the Catastrophe Drop now---!!

163.
Announcer: But without moving, Omegaman has decisively acted with his Catastrophe Drop---!!
Omega: Omega Catastrophe Drop---!!
Neptune: Uh…u—n……
Suguru: I took a body blow by someone when I was falling from the sky in Omegaman’s Catastrophe Drop and fell out of the ring before I knew it…
Announcer: So…somehow Kinnikuman, who should have been thrown to the canvas in Omegaman’s Catastrophe Drop, is outside the ring---!!
Omega: So…so then, what I strock to the canvas was…?

164.
Omega: Gee—this Choujin is…
Suguru: Neptuneman…!!
Suguru: Wh…why did you do this………
Neptune: Fu…I’m taking divine punishment. This is accursed divine punishment for tearing off the masks of over 900 masked Choujin over…several decades…
Neptune: Uuh…my legs…!
Suguru: Y…your legs are disappearing!!
Bibimba: Suguru-sama—Neptuneman-sama saved you from the Catastrophe Drop by severing the Roulette String of the Prophecy of his fate by his own hands----!!
(TN: Bibimba said “Suguru-sama” twice here…it sort of felt ridiculous to have it twice)

165.
Suguru: Wh…what a stupid thing…!
Neptune: Stupid…? I too was fighting until I threw my body away for Kinnikuman, just like the Idol Choujin in my Perfect Choujin days but…he really doesn’t understand, only thinking its stupid…
Neptune: Bu…but I too have entered the Idol Choujin and understand it well…Kinnikuman, you possess a charm that’s surpasses as a Choujin who just doesn’t disappoint, even if you throw your life away.
Suguru: Aah.
Announcer: The annihilation of Neptuneman’s body is spreading it’s corrosion from his legs to his torso---!!
Neptune: I…regret that I haven’t seen you wearing the crown as Great King of Planet Kinniku…
Suguru: Neptuneman!!
Neptune: WIN THIS, KINNIKUMAN!!

166.
Suguru: Aah.
Announcer: The existence of Neptuneman, the 5th victim following Kinniku Ataru, Geronimo, Robin Mask and Mammothman, has been annihilated from this world---!!
Suguru: Neptuneman!!
Phoenix: Fuhahahaha…Kinnikuman, with that, you’ve become alone; die~~~!!
Announcer: Phoenix is aiming a surprise Flying Kneel Kick attack towards Kinnikuman, who is shaken by Neptuneman’s annihilation---!!
Bibimba: Phoenix-sama---!!
Bibimba: Since you wish for wanting to succeed the Great King of Planet Kinniku as well…and for my love just like Suguru-sama, then fight fair and square without using any further dirty, cowardly means---!!

167.
Announcer: Bibimba has entrusted a tearful message and has jumped from the stands towards the guest seats---!!
Bibimba: I’m no match for a manly friendship like with Robin Mask-sama and Neptuneman-sama, but…if I can have Suguru-sama and Phoenix-sama hold a fair-and-square clean fight…!
Suguru & Phoenix: BIBIMBA---!!

168.
(SCRAMBLE FOR THE KINNIKU THRONE ARC)
SPECIAL VTR XCIV (XXXXXXXXXIV)
KINNIKUMAN VS. PRINCE KAMEHAME (OMEGAMAN)

TN: This was a chapter which felt like it was going to give off the meaning of it's title...but did so with two false starts before finally giving us the full meaning. With everyone crying desperately for Suguru in this chapter, you'd think that the "wish" was for Kamehame as he slowly went away...or even for Neptuneman with his existence finally eliminated in probably one of the most bizarre moments yet (that I'll get to). But...the chapter title...and the wish...was Bibimba's. And...yeah, this just is causing more difficulty and trouble than it really needs to be brought up with. We know Phoenix is an utter jerk and uses cowardly means and we know that Suguru has had quite a bit of difficulty surpassing each and every one of them, but to just pull this in the middle of a match with all this going on just seems to become distracting, like she's so selfish about how little attention she's getting that she has to use this method to get someone to remember that she exists. (yes Bibimba we know how little you were used recently but stop trying to throw up signs to say "REMEMBER ME!!!" with all that's going on in the ring)

Meanwhile, we have essentially the end of the saga of interaction between Suguru and his former teacher Prince Kamehame...there really isn't that much to say about this considering it was rather well done even if a tad sappy. Suguru has been through so much that to surpass the one he looked up to the most shows that he is finally ready to take on any and all matters being king. I really thought it was a tad odd that Kamehame has finally acknowledged Suguru's brains considering we've known he is ingenious with how he can think on his toes for a while now...but I guess it was something he never really saw for himself way back when the two of them were on Hawaii. It is strange though thinking about it: his whole reason and purpose of being in the tournament was merely a fluke considering that not even Kamehame knew Omegaman would use him...but I guess it was just a means of convenience for him. The whole final interaction was wordy but sort of a poignant ending to one of the good characters of this series...though with how Omegaman replaced him, it felt strangely like he was getting more love from Suguru than Bibimba was.

And then there was Neptuneman's big exit...oh brother, was that just screwed up. Yeah, I get the whole consequence set up due to the whole crap regarding the Muscle Prophecy being burned, but the way it was done...wait, does anyone have any idea what exactly happened!? How the heck does Suguru, who was snug and captured one moment in the Omega Catastrophe Drop, suddenly get replaced by Neptuneman who is dying due to the cutting of his Roulette String? We clearly saw Omegaman's hand closed firmly and perfectly...didn't we? How the heck could Neptuneman just suddenly open the hand, remove Suguru, then take his place in the Catastrophe Drop!? We've seen the Catastrophe Drop in the Geronimo fight and we know how precise and firm Omegaman does it...so to see it done this way with merely "someone knocking the main target out and becoming the new target even though the wager is sealed so shut that there literally is no escape at all".........I can't say it's the most ludicrous thing in this series ever...but it is one of the most head-scratching.

BTW: I was going to do a whole "final talk about the villains or villains turned heroes with Neptuneman being sent away"...but I guess the utter mind-screw of Neptuneman replacing Suguru and Bibimba's pitiful action just was too important and prevented me from thinking it up for the time being. Hopefully before the end of the series I'll have it ready...
