After finally winning the Daibukai and stopping Toudou Hyoue, it's time for the Otokojuku students to finally get back to where they belong: in the classroom of their beloved school! But change...and new dangers...are already in the air...

Momotarou: Has it been a fast month since that Tenchou Gorin Daibukai?
Date: I didn’t think that we would live and pass through the school gate of Otokojuku again.

Toramaru: So—then, what sort of freshmen have enrolled here?
Togashi: Kakkaka: we’re going to push them hard with the stick of love as their senpai---!!
Toramaru: Hehhehe: they’re here, they’re here. It seems that their classes haven’t started yet.
Togashi: They’ve gathered around and are jabbering about something.
Toramaru: We’ll softly go there and have an ecology observation for those freshmen guys!!

“First Year”: What---!? Who is the strongest at Otokojuku---!! That’s a good question. If it’s about Otokojuku, then I knew everything about them before I enrolled here.
“First Year”: First of all there’s the head of the Second-Years, Tsurugi Momotarou-senpai!! He now has ascended into the representative of Otokojuku from the dead Daigouin Jaki and his skill, of course, has given him the deep trust even from his allies; there isn’t a person who can stand in line with that guy!!
“First Year”: And then next is former president of the Gougakuren, Date Omito!! When he holds a spear, his ability is unequal!!
“First Year”: They have lost Gekkou, but Hien and Raiden of the Sanmenken are strong too!! In particular there are tales where even the enemies have been charmed by the beauty of Hien-senpai!!

“First Year”: Oh, I can’t forget them, but there are Senkuu, Manjimaru, Rasetsu and Eikei: the Otokojuku Shitennou!! They’re in the midst of medical treatment without healing from the wounds they took in the Tenchou Gorin Daibukai yet, but their guts and strength isn’t incomplete!!

Toramaru: Somehow or another, it’s this years First-Years.
Togashi: How could they be fit for Otokojuku among that incomplete lot?

“Trio”: LET’S GO: FAILURE WON’T BE FORGIVEN!!

TN: Let me start with this: after all the Daibukai settings and all the chaos associated with that arc, it's great to see the Otokojuku characters back in the classroom just dealing with Onihige and his strange teaching ways for once. I keep saying this but somehow seeing the students just being themselves instead of badass fighters (like Momo snoozing in class or Togashi and Toramaru listening to gossip...or Tazawa asking random questions) just feels more at home with how this series was and how these characters are than anything involving a bizarre battle style. This chapter, though, begins our transition into our next major Otokojuku arc...starting with the new "entrance exam" and the introduction of Tougou Souji, our new dangerous First-Year! Honestly, I think that the addition of the Russian-Roulette Entrance Exam just feels not only appropriate for the school...but strangely necessary at this point. Prior to winning the Daibukai, the school got by taking in the delinquents and molding them into something, knowing that many of them were really not too special and wouldn't really be useful to Edajima and the staff. But with the Daibukai in their hands, the school now has notoriety and needs to find a way to separate the ones worthy of being of the school and those who just claim they want to be bad-asses just because they can. Though you could say Russian Roulette for the sake of weeding out the new students is a tad extreme but works considering that a lot of Otokojuku is about facing up to danger...and the flow and luck of battle. Though Tougou...he just took it to a new extreme with the "five bullet" game. Somehow he just did it to prove he could and not because Otokojuku was soft: it was all psychological anyway so he didn't have to just add more bullets just to show how badass he is. I sort of wish we got a bit more regarding the kid who knew of the Daibukai fighters but...he really doesn't get any development beyond this chapter so there isn't much to say except Togashi and Toramaru really need to show him who the senpai is. And as for those three at the end...we'll get into them the next few chapters.
