Cover page

This volume consists of chapters that were drawn and serialized in four special edition magazine releases over the course of a year. We were working on the main story at the same time, so writing each chapter was a time crunch. That's why, more than any other volume, this one is especially packed with our memories, blood and sweat.

This story is set one year before the main story's protagonists, Kensuke and Kagura, meet.

I'm glad I got to draw Izuna, who left the Countermeasure Department to wander aimlessly following the events of Yomi's death.

Please look forward to new characters such as Kyoko's brother, from the Kansai Branch, and a girl who aims to be exorcist, as they will later be linked to the main story. Thank you very much.

The stage is Kyoto. Takiguchi Tsuina is high school girl possessed by a curse that brings misfortune upon those she loves (romantically).

Tsuina, soon after transferring schools, fell in love at first sight with Mikado-senpai, who is in fact an exorcist for the Super Natural Disaster Countermeasure Department!!

In order to follow the same path as the one she loves, Tsuina becomes the apprentice of the wandering exorcist, Izuna…

A tale that is linked to the main story, Ga-Rei, presents you with another Ga-Rei world!!

Shichihonzame are a group of seven evil spirits which hunt people with spirit sense.

Depending on the region, they're called Shichinin Misaki or Shichinin Dougyou. As there are many kinds, they're called the Shichinin Series.

Note: Shichinin is just "seven". Misaki is a messenger of gods, and Dougyou just means travelling companions.
