I'm assuming it's the new trendy word, kinda like どんだけ～ not so long ago, since it showed up on both the chapters of OP and Naruto this week... >.>;
according to an authentic(?) japanese person, they've written "Check it out! Yo!", although only japanglish can possibly explain how "ra" fits for "it", or its completely out of place usage in context. :S

The completely out of place, that, I gave up understanding. Or rather, I understood that Japanese persons don't understand half of what they say themselves, and that doesn't make our job easier^^; It's just the way "check it out" turned into "chekera" that I don't understand. Even using engrish as an excuse, I would never have guessed it in a thousand years. I'm pretty sure the day they find an explanation to this one will be the day we'll be able to explore the galaxy, because nothing else than an hyperspace travel could have turn that english expression into something so far away in so little time >.>;

It just so happens that this flap is, phonetically speaking, very close to the consonant of the Japanese "r". The ラ is presumably the result of the perception of the "t" in "it" and the following vowel, as said rapidly in a "typical" North American English accent and filtered through the ears of native Japanese speakers.
