Sasameke is a pretty cool manga about Rakuichi, a young Japanese soccer player who left Japan when he was 13 to play soccer in Italy, and after 3 years returns to Japan to live with his cousin. The art is stylish, though not the most detailed, and the characters are unique. It reminds me a bit of FLCL with Rakuichi wondering about where his life is going. Sadly there are only 6 chapters scanned by Hanashi early last year. You can download them at http://www.hanashi.org/?q=node/20, though you need to register or you can get them off of lurk. You can find the raws here- http://www.thelurker.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2037 on mediafire- http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=04592bd0b7f3de264012e8015643d9c8d49c261b18030343

Has anyone else read this, and if so what are your thoughts on it.

Is it a soccer manga? From the cover the art looks pretty tight?

Yeah it has soccer, but it's not Whistle or Captain Tsubasa. I think the soccer just acts as a background to the story. And the art is pretty cool.

Hmm I would even dare to say soccer is in second, the slice of life/comedy is maye prior in this manga

bought and read the first french volume and it was an instant-in-one-time-finish-read

very good manga

This manga is really fun XD
I'm not sure if sports is in second prior, sure there is a lot of other stuffs happening, but there is also a lot of soccer games going on too.
(And I'm really curious about how the game on the end of the volume 4 will develop )
