2016 was an amazing year. Although we had to say goodbye to some big Manga Titles like Bleach and Toriko, we also welcomed promising new ones like Yakusoku no Neverland.

We hosted a lot of events here, both the traditional ones like the 2016 Community Awards and Secret Santa, and also some more forum specific events like the One Piece Awards and the Fairy Tail Fighting Tournament & Awards among numerous other events. Some have left...

With the start of the new year, we are launching a new game in one of our manga sections:
the Tokyo Ghoul:re Prediction Game!

The basic rules are very simple: try to predict what will happen in the story, and see who comes out as a master of predictions at the end of every story arc.

If you like to discuss the manga's story, analyze unforeseen developments, or think you can always see a step ahead of the author, then this game should be right up your alley!

Sounds fun? Then come check it out in our Tokyo Ghoul section once you're done celebrating. The first round starts on January 1!

The end is here...

It's the end of an era guys,

As both series have come to an end, we've decided to archive both Naruto and Bleach forums.

Those who have been around for a while will remember that these series, in particular Naruto have been some of our oldest forums, Manga or otherwise, so it'll definitely feel odd not having them on the menu anymore.

BUT do not threat, both series, including Naruto's continuation BORUTO have their series threads in the Manga Discussion forums (Bleach , Naruto , Boruto ) so you can still share your nostalgia there and if any information regarding these series comes up, they'll be posted there.

I'd like to thank...

The Promised Neverland - Chapter 10 review by ProGoddess

"'Control'

The chapter cover is very interesting - we have the children trying to escape through the spiral of stairs like going through a labyrinth. Is this a foretold of the plot, that this is the escape route? Or there may be some hidden secret buried underground, while awaiting for the children to find out?

No one knows what lies beyond the farm. What will the children discover while in their home - Grace Field House? What will they encounter when they escape? Is the House safer, or the outside? What if the outside world is more dangerous than where they are now?

The story continues with the kids playing tag, just like what they have planned - to train their "escape" skills like physical and mental agility, gaining stamina, alertness...

Japanese publisher Kadokawa has purchased a 51% stake in Yen Press.

Sword Art Online, A Certain Magical Index, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Many of us are familiar with those Anime which all originated from the same kind of source. A Light Novel.
But what are those things in the first place and why are the news at the top even remotely interesting?

Light novels, or ranobe, are fairly popular in the homeland of Otaku culture. They are novels whose main target audience consists of middle and high school kids in the same sense as a Manga magazine like Shounen Jump does.
Like a novel should be, ranobe are basically 99% text paired with a few illustrations and are released in bunkobon size.

Many fans of LNs in the western world are now rejoicing because Yen Press became a part of the japanese company Kadokawa. During the last few years, Yen Press already began to license and publish quite a few series like Haruhi, SAO, Accel...

MangaHelpers Becomes ComicHelpers

Hey all,

Times are changing and so is MangaHelpers. Due to the surge of popularity of Western comics and the waning interest in manga, we have determined that we, too, must change to remain relevant moving forward. As such, we will slowly transition to a discussion site for comics starting today.

We apologize to the members that enjoyed discussing on MangaHelpers these past nine years; thank you very much for your support during that time and we hope you can understand and respect our decision. We also hope that many of you stick around and join us in debating about Batman and Superman. In fact, why not join right in? Get started here and discover the world of ComicHelpers!

Sincerely,

ComicHelpers Staff

Ladies and gentlemen,

when you visited the site earlier, you probably noticed that the Manga section was gone and replaced by a Comics section. And upon checking our homepage an announcement that we would turn MangaHelpers into ComicHelpers. Now, some of you managed to see through our clever ruse, however, to everyone else: we tricked you. Of course we would never do something like replacing all the manga discussions with comic ones. So rejoice, everyone, and welcome back to...

...Wait...

Happy April 1st,
~MangaHelpers Staff

P.S. You can still discuss comics here.
P.P.S. Remember to do your taxes.

Hey man. So now that Mangastream is gone I have no reliable place to find new manga (and my one stop shopping for FT 100YQ, OnePunchMan, and Boruto is gone. Granted I can find those on different sites but haven’t found anything as good as Mangastream was.

On the other hand I understand for authors it had to die, so maybe there isn’t a replacement.

Any thoughts?
I won't expect for Strauss Siblings fight anymore. We really are freakin' clowns lmao. Don't touch me I'm annoyed atm.
