It feels like it’s about due for a drama, but we can’t write off the possibility of a digital art book now that Innocent Rouge has widened what counts as an important announcement

Yeah i feel like Mori’s style on Radiation House would be incredibly well-suited to animation, so it’s kind of a shame, but at the least I’m super happy for the series getting a drama! Grand Jump has a real hot streak for amazing drama adaptations
Onto my first new addition to my charting efforts: Grand Jump! I'll admit that I don't really follow too much from this magazine, but I wanted to send out a quick thanks to everyone for making the English TOCs so easily available for this past year! Things seem to be pretty healthy around here in Grand Jump. As it has been mentioned around here, several series have either received or are well-positioned to receive live-action drama adaptations. Sundome!! Milky Way usually seems to rank pretty high, even though the MC is 99+% of the time a total tool, but given the nature of the series, I guess that doesn't really make much of a difference. Strike or Gutter is still very new, but it's alright so far for fanservice fans. 9 new series started and only 5 series ended or were transferred out.
And now for the stats! The most color pages for the year goes to Play Ball 2, with 5 color pages for the year. There were 2 series that managed to get perfect attendance (appeared in all 24 issues) for the year: Kouun Ryuusui: Jofuku and Uramiya Honpo - Worst. There were 5 others that were close, but missed out by 1 issue: Jigoku Sensei Nuuuubeeee Neo, Furin Shokudou, Sundome!! Milky Way, The Naniwa Kinyuudou, and Play Ball 2. The lowest standard deviation (lower = position in TOC changes less each issue; higher = position in TOC changes more each issue) went to Amai Seikatsu: 2nd Season in a positive way and Ou-sama no Shitateya -Fiori di Girasole- in a negative way (since Ashitaba only appeared in 3 issues before its conclusion). The highest standard deviation went to Funouhan.
Looking ahead to 2019, I'm not entirely too sure how to feel. Play Ball 2 seems to be doing well and Radiation House's live-action adaptation could bring some life to the series. From what I can tell, it seems like there's a handful of series that have been around for awhile that are decently popular, so maybe we'll see something from them this coming year. It is noteworthy that Jigoku Sensei Nuuuubeeee Neo is ending soon since it has been around for quite awhile, so they'll need some newcomers to fill that void. From what I can tell, there don't appear to be any series that are consistently near the bottom of the TOC that aren't intentionally being placed there, so I'm not too sure what else could be at risk of leaving in the short-term future. Although I'm not too knowledgeable on the magazine as a whole, it seems like things could be steady sailing into 2019 for Grand Jump
2018 was a pretty good year for Grand Jump, with the Funohan/Impossibility Defense movie, the drama for Furin Shokudo/Adultery Restaurant, the Captain Tsubasa anime, and the continued performance of Captain Tsubasa, Play Ball 2 and Nube Neo in print.
I don’t know what I expect for 2019, though. It feels like we *might* get an anime for Play Ball 2 at some point, off the back of both its success and the legacy both Play Ball and Captain have made for it. Beyond that? A possibility of a “part 2” for I become a Gedoh-Man, really. Everything else is up in the air.
The big 2019 thing for GJ was always gonna be the relaunch of GJ Premium as Grand Jump Mucha and Grand Jump Mecha becoming a regular series. They appear to be testing the waters for a normal digital release of Mecha as a magazine away from Mecha Comics’ website with a recent free preview book, but without that it’s gonna be... difficult to get a feel for that mag. Regardless, those two mags seem to be GJ’s focus for the near future

COLOUR PAGES (NSFW NO SERIOUSLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK BE WARNED):
Hikaru Yuzuki 50 years promo page detailing all the digital rereleases of his work (ALSO NOT SAFE FOR WORK):
This last one is kind of a neat thing. Shueisha do back catalog releases on the first of each month on digital services, across their various labels (Shonen Jump in particular has rereleased a lot of old cancelled comics this way through the last few years), and as a part of celebrating Hikaru Yuzuki's big creative anniversary they've been doing boatloads of his work each month! It's been going two months, and is incredibly close to having covered everything Yuzuki has ever done, pulling it all under the YJC label while it's at it. A fantastic celebration of a stone-cold legend.

Radiation house is really enjoying the boost from the drama, while it might not be anything significant, but it is definitely noticeable on shoseki,
