hmm... pain seems to know nagato, yahiko and konan, and about the book jiraiya wrote.... - I doubt if kushina knew about yahiko's ideals. - I doubt if hayate knew about yahiko's ideals :P I would still say pain was nagato. And when Jiraiya said "I know the true identity of pain" he probably...

wasnt kyuubi sealed inside naruto as soon as his umbilical cord was cut off?! In that case.. the picture that we see of him in the recent chapter is after the kyuubi was sealed inside him. He would have the whiskers then again kishimoto is known to have anachronistic elements in his plot...
