Hello Everyone! We're back to the regular art contest after the last special. This time it is a writing one! The challenge is to write a Poem with Dream as a theme.Show us your creativity with constructing poems.

What do I need to know before submission?

• All members are welcome to join the contest. There is no minimum post or user status you need to have to participate.

"Dreams poem contest" - "Dreams like these" by "Shionoro"

No matter how much I resist, i fall asleep.

I see monsters, chasing me.
I see men, plotting against me.
I see loved ones, glancing at me with hatred in their eyes.

But it was just a dream and I am alone.
I sigh deeply.
Dreams like these are going to kill me some day.

No matter how much I resist, I fall asleep.

I see my best friend from childhood, wandering with me in the woods.
I see my first love, kissing me like only a first love can.
I see a stranger, having such a good time with me that it feels like we have known each other forever.

But it was just a dream and I am alone.
I sigh deeply,.
Dreams like these are going to kill me some day.

As we sat on the roof of your car
and gazed at the stars above,
I thought how lucky I am
to be with the one I love

and marveled about
the possibility of
you and I

Of a happy life
through laughter and tears
Gathering with friends
and loved ones so dear

Of exploration
and opportunities
Traveling the world
and learning new things

Of growing old together
Sharing our ups and downs
until the end of our time

But that can all wait
For we still have time

As you lean your head against my shoulder
and your fingers interlocked with mine,
I am just content
with having you by my side

It is never too late to fix yourself a goal

That is why kids have always a goal
It is because they have dreams.

Don't dream your life,
Live your dream,
Because you don't live in the past,
You don't dream of the future,
You are in the present.

You always desired power,
You always had power in your dreams
You wanted to be the strongest,
You were always the strongest in your dreams
You wanted friends to be happy with,
You had friends only in your dreams
But now, you need to wake up
And realize your dreams
To make it reality.

Dare I dream the dream,
the dream without you in it
Dare I leave you to the waking world,
as I fall into the night
As I let my mind take flight,
do the same
Forget my name, my face

A place in which I don’t belong,
In which I don’t exist
A place in which we never kissed

Dare to dream
And dream without me
For I'll remain right here

And should I wake, only to find
your eyes closed, lips in a smile

And what's down there, you'll leave behind

So I’ll let you dream, be free a while


Comments: Haven't written a poem since I was 14 or something.. Might read a bit strange, but I'm pretty happy with it.
This comes from accepting that everyone needs escape from time to time.

Dreamworld

The longings of my heart hide here
The fears of my life reside here
I can see what I feel
And it's radiance is upon me
Every secret is unsealed
Even while alone I'm not lonely
This mysterious place will pass
And shall return in all its different ways
And It shall remain in all my days
I know what I have seen
No words can describe where I have been
Like a child, innocent, pure and free to explore
Like the sun glowing on the crystallised sea shore
A world emerges that releases all the different keys
To all the different personalities
That hide inside me
Peculiar scenes can arise
Yes, the strangest of wonderlands
I may meet a sudden knight
Who will fight me then shake my hand
So my dearest friend?
Where have you been?
In your dreamworld together, what shall we see?
Let us walk together into this angelic dream world of yours,
I wonder how much it shall differ from mine?
I long to see your world and enjoy with you,
the world you leave at night

I lie on the field
And air-swept basswood yield
Their fragrance and perfume makes my heart filled with blushful Hippocrene

.
I saw a lover and his beloved playing in the meadow happily
their love is pure
The bee hives are brimming with honey and a beautiful river runs beside me.


The water of which fills your heart with heavenly beauty.
I saw fairies and elfs in the air
with tranquil peace i become pleased
But suddenly i woke up and discovered myself in my bed in this heartless world.


But i know if you love HIM and others then you will get love and my dream will come true.

paint me a picture of white acropolis
winding black ivy pen sketched
in the night;

the afternoon glaze
and the mid-morning haze
intertwined with the dusky frame
right in heart of the winter north woods

and the scent of the green lady forest
in marble all bent into
faceless white spirit,
spy right through you, dreamer,

see the lingering hopes
that haunt your left shoulder,
that haunted your eyes,

so you cast them away
and brought in your
dark curtained chamber,
and day after day you

sketched tears on her face,
sketched tears washed them clean
and the white salted angel's
green eyes were not seen anymore.

Dream Poem- A lost soul by Holt

The golden moon bathes me in its fiery radiance
I glimpse the silver sun lost among the clouds
There's something wrong with this scenery so I must fix it

I reach for the golden light and snuff it's brilliance in my palms
This is my world and I cannot stand it's arrogance
Here everything bows to me and exist solely for my purpose

Then I see it, a little figure, small and insignificant
A trespasser in my domain
An existence without my permission
I resolve to destroy it like the golden moon
But I cannot reach it.

As far as I run, as far as I stretch,
It lies a hair beyond my grasp.
I'm frustrated and it mocks me
It ridicules my world, and denies it's reality
My rage is beyond measure
But his words strike deep

I can feel my consciousness returning.
I can feel the world beckoning
Yet I will fight to remain here
Because I have no place in that cruel place
A god here, but there, just another insignificant being
