Looks like a simple air time change at normal hours saved heroaca. S3 will only have new volumes to carry it as I doubt it can grow further at s3 (see haikyuu)
MHA sales will grow.

It will take a miracle for it to meet or exceed this charts performance for the 2018 chart. No 2016 heroaca volume is up there for example, compared to say haikyuu which volumes have very long legs and approach the 900K - 1000K level.

I think Oricon don't want us to see that Black Clover is in TOP 11, i'm sure thats because of it.

I think MHA season 3 will give another boost, one of the best moments of the manga will be there.

Haikyu is older than MHA.

And MHA is a lot publicized by Jump lately.

It seems to me too early to honestly see him near the Top 10.

As already said, the anime started too little. To put it all MHA has been around for three years, yet the real boost has only recently had it with the sixth season ...

Maybe top 15 because it's impossible for BC right now to beat conan, TF FT Gintama and Chihayafuru

I dont understand your point? MHA outsold older manga.
What I mean is that since Haykiuu is older, is more know and more advertised.

It does feel weird to see no Golden Kamuy absent. To be fair, Golden Kamuy was 26th last year and it got a huge boost from winning that award, maybe the momentum slowed down in backlog sales for it. Yuuna is probably just under Prison school, which doesn't seem impossible. Terra Formars was actually a top 10 seller two times I think and a top 15 seller in the last few years, so it's not surprising it's still going strong even after a long hiatus.

Pretty amazing that Neverland almost got in the top 10 without an anime.

Great work here.

How did you sort out the backlog sales for each series? Your list implies that Neverland completely sold out its last print of 2.1 million. Even though its still selling and in stock.

Thanks for this great list, you put so much effort into it, it is very much appreciated! I have been following series sales for a lot of things and this seems pretty on point.

It's insane to see how close Neverland actually is to the top 10, it might not even need an anime to reach it. I underestimated it's ridiculous growth. But having an anime will definitely be essential. I feel like it might be slightly inflated since we know the series had 2.1 million copies in print not too long ago and print numbers definitely aren't exactly how much something sells. Regardless, it still easily seems to be in the top 15 and worst case scenario the top 20. The manga is quite literally a smash hit, Shueisha, you'd better not mess up the anime adaptation because this can seriously become a phenomenon since it's already an insane success without an anime and so early on.

That's about what I would've expected for Black Clover, but I would've said it was a top 20-30 series because of previous years, but there seems to be a dramatic decrease in print sales overall due to digital so the top 30 standards are lower than last year by a lot.

I'm really happy to see how much Kimetsu no Yaiba has grown, it was an underdog in every sense of the word in its early stages and now it's on its way to becoming a memorable battle shounen from the magazine that is next in line to get a lot of promotion alongside with Neverland as future bright figures of Jump.

And unrelated series from Jump I'm glad for: Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii(fantastic romantic comedy for otakus), P to JK(amazing shoijo series, highly recommended), Dungeon Meshi(anime when, the series is so good, please get a good adaptation), Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai(it's just an amazing romcom, enough said, try it out), Komi-san wa, Community-shou desu.

Just my speculation:

Kimetsu makes the list while Yuuna did not due to Yuuna's stagnation. They both have 2 volumes count for the 2016 sale list (Febuary to November), and if you remember Kimetsu sold was around 30k~40k, while the first two Yuuna sold 70k~100k.

Then come 2017, Kimetsu has 1 more volume than Yuuna even though they serialized at the same time :-_-, and the Kimetsu sale continues to grow slowly (example: say if Yuuna vol 1 and 2 stuck at 100k and wont grow any further, the sale won't coutn for 2017 sale). Meanwhile, Kimetsu vol 1 and 2 go from 30k to say 100k in 2017, that would be 140k increase right there

Lastly, Kimetsu 9th volume has 2.1 million in print, while YUuna only have 1.5 mil

That would've been really cool if Kimetsu got into the top 30. Gintama deserves a lot more IMO, why didn't the successful live action give it a boost?

TPN is fucking killing it.
