That is exactly my point. There is nothing wrong with comparing Ace to people like Kata but stopping short of people like the Yonko. That still means Ace is comparable to the top 1% of fighters in One Piece.
My point is, he's revered as much weaker.
I guess I just don’t see those posts as much as you do. I usually see people comparing Ace to other people who I would also place in that top 1%. I don’t see people debating whether Ace is as strong as Coby. It’s more people debating about Ace being as strong as Luffy or Sabo or Marco.

Well here is the mad paranoid answer to everyone's concerns. Oda's mentor was the Mangaka for Rurouni Kenshin. Whom of which was arrested in 2002 for child prostitution, then also just recently arrested again for having child pornography on his computer. A lot of people are freaking out that Oda may be part of it and OP will go unfinished, but so far that is unfounded. That being said Luffy and Sanji aren't that old yet either, people are forgetting that part.

But if Sanji was about to get married to a 14 year old, that would be messed up as well. Because you know, the vast majority of 14 year olds are not developed enough to enter marriage with anyone. It's perceived as worse for a girl because girls are perceived to be more innocent than boys. Thats why there was such outrage from people. You can't really defend Sanji+multiple other male characters lusting after a 14 year old girl. It was obvious it was just an error, because even the Japanese were outraged.
Ultimately it is really a stupid thing to get concerned about and is a good example of armchair activism but at the same time defending a "good" 21 year old character having borderline sexual relations with a 14 year old girl is just as cringe worthy. People should have just waited out for a response before getting too worked up about it.
It's still better than showing that Vander Decken wanted to marry Shirahoshi when she was just a child, or at least falling in love with her.
