Hello everybody! This time, the contest theme is Illustrated Children Book.
Do you still remember your childhood memories? Your parents bought you illustrated book and you got excited. Are you feeling nostalgic? Submit your drawing now!​

What do I need to know before submission?

• All members are welcome to join the contest. There is no minimum post or user status you need to have to participate.
• Entries for the contest must be posted in this thread.
• Each participant can only submit ONE ENTRY and it should be a new piece. So don’t try to be smart and enter a piece used in past contests.
• Drawings can be done on paper or computer .
• Use MangaHelpers’ Media Gallery to upload your entries. Any problem with uploading, let us know.
• Submissions not following the weeks theme will result in disqualification. If you have any question about the contest, you can ask it here.
• You must credit the artist of any images you use as inspiration. If it’s all original art, write so in the credits.
• No excessive, suggestive, spoiler, or porn-related imagery in the contest.
• No plagiarizing is allowed.
• Submission is open until March 25th, at 23:00 (GMT)

How do I upload and submit my entry?

1. Go 01- Fanart: Coloring & Drawing Contest.
2. Click the "Upload Image" button.
3. After upload is completed, you'll be shown your uploaded image with an edit box for commentary/additional information. After adding necessary information you wish, click "Save Media" and you'll be brought to the sharing media page.
   
4. Choose the "Share BB Code" and post within this thread; choosing this will save you having to select any additional codes you want to post here.
5. For more information on how to use the media gallery and uploading, go HERE.

Illustrated Children book - Title: ''The hungry chibi Lambda looking at the Lambu's food'' - made by Purity of Magi

Edit: Okay I replaced my meme derpy Bern no quick doodle for this hungry chibi Lambda doodle meme. The story behind this drawing is below the spoiler tag! Prepare for some nice tears!

I was very inspired by @Farfalla and @Asako in the Win thread, mhm! I mean they still made me join this contest (dayum such women >3<) however @Lambu also inspired me because of his food picture yesterday and I was hungry so... at that moment this chibi Lambda was created! Also Lambu sounds like Lambda. LambuXLambda confirmed imma righto? =3=

The story for this drawing is made by me (still I will give Farfosh the credits). It's quite a lovely children story if I may say!

New Story:

''Once upon a time, The certainty witch saw a Lambu eating his food. She was so hungry that she kept staring at him. lambu asked: ''What are you looking at''. Lambdadelta didn't react and kept staring at him. Lambu gave a ''=w='' face back and decided to eat all the food in front of her eyes. Lambdadelta had this shock expression and was not happy however Lambu was just kidding around and gave her a sweet candy which made her happy again. After that, lambu was eating a candy and so Lambda was looking with that face expression to him again. Lambu saw that and his reaction: ''what a candy lover ..''

So as you can see I suck so much at drawing, but bc the topic was children book, i thought i can make the most of my non-skill and childish way to draw (im used to see a lot of children sketches so i m sure I can rival them )
Was inspired by Monster, Urasawa did a fantastic job with the whole illustrated children books thing so wanted to do something partly related to this except my little monster is a cute one, Title inspired by Monster too.

Illustrated Children Book - "Wish Seeds" by riki
Comments: I made this drawing based on childhood memories of picking up dandelions and trying (and always failing) to blow out all of the seeds with one breath. I may not get all of my wishes to come true, but I did spread more weeds everywhere.
Credit: I use Sketchbook Pro for iPad to draw my sketch and Gimp to add the text.

Illustrated Children Book - "What if i was alone in the world?" by Valhalla777

Inspired by a children book that every kid reads in their 1st grade. Well at least in my country.
The story is about a boy who is dreaming about being alone in the world. What would he do? Where would he go? How would he manage without a single person existing? Its actually a bit of a scary theme for a 1st grader in middleschool, but nonetheless the story is fun and interesting and has a deeper meaning to it.

.... Dont we all at least once in our lives imagine what would it look like if we were alone in the world.

Like i said, for inspiration i used the children book called "Pale alone in the world" (its a very popular children book in my country), and for the cover i was inspired by two specific pics:
Pic 1 --> a boy who is sitting alone on a cliff (i sketched and drew that boy for my pic in Paint)
Pic 2 --> The cover of the story "Pale sam na svijetu" eng: Pale alone in the world (i drew the Earth in Paint)
oh and for the continents i based it and sketched it on this pic --> Earth
As for the rest, i added the pic of the boy and the pic of the Earth into photoshop and combined them. Then painted the background in Photoshop, and added the title. And for my finishing touch i used PhotoMania to add the sketch effect to my my pic. So there you have it.

Illustrated Children Book - "A dog dreams" - by zimbardo

Made using sketchbook pro and gimp - using a surface pro (the terrible first edition, 'cause I got it for free and have no spare cash for expensive exciting drawing devices...)

Spoiler: Text might be a little small/hard to read, so here's the script

Somewhere, a little girl prepares for her bed.
With a sweet loving kiss to her best friend's head.

Then she brushes her teeth, till they're all nice and white.
Lies down in her bed, to dream all through the night.

The old dog yawns, as she goes out of view.
It's time for his bed, so he can dream too.

He dreams of his friends, of adventure and cheer.
All the aches of his age seem to disappear.


As the little girl wakes, to play with her friend.
She learns, all the good dreams must come to an end.


Although kind words and warm hugs won't fight off her screams.
Just know that somewhere nearby a little dog dreams.

I went with the illustrating for an excisting book route. Philosopher's Stone is an amazing Children's Book. Harry Potter grow into the YA field, but imho the first two are definetly childrens stories.

For me when reading for the first time, the flying bike was particulary magical and interesting thing.
