I know I certainly have - I've joined queues before, without knowing what the queue was actually for

I queue-d only for my pay at bank... but once did for an otaku event, so fucking embarassing.

Only if there is a porn event or a shit with the chance to meet Tite, i would go happily.

Was late for both riddles xd

I know! When I was browsing Netflix and he said “that one! With the white dog like the one I have!” (he has a plush that looks like Milou), I was like “Tintin...? .... OKAY THEN! :zomg

I friggin’ love this show man. Nostalgia, sure, but it’s also so high quality still.

I showed my eldest a few episodes - then we made the mistake of leaving the box-set back at my folks house, when we went to visit them last year...

It's not like there aren't a load of other things to watch, but still... it is a fun series, for sure.

Showed my son the animated Tintin series today. He hasn’t sat that still and engulfed in the TV since I first showed him Totoro.
Good man, show him the old school stuff

When I was a kid the Tintin VHS tapes were some of the most watched ones in the house. My parents have the DVD box set so I might knick that one if it isn’t nailed down.

One of the first films me and my wife watched in theatres after we became a couple was the Spielberg/Jackson Tintin film. That one also has an incredible opening sequence which I sat giggling with glee all the way through (my wife just told me she remembers it clearly).

I haven't actually seen that film - I think I was too worried how bad it'd be, so didn't want to be hugely disappointed.
It's easier to expect something to be worse than you think it should be, than know that it is...

It's an odd opening - not bad at all, just not at all the tone I was expecting for how I guessed the film would be.

I liked it. I don’t know how much of that came from just watching a Tintin film in theatres though. I remember thinking the storyline was a bit weird when you realized how they were mixing things up etc, but the feel of it all was much the same adventurous fun as the comics/cartoon.

Haven’t seen it since then though. I got the Blu-Ray for my birthday years back so I might need to re-watch it before giving a proper, fresh opinion.

When I was a kid, there was a library room in our place, where my dad kept all his books (he's a real book worm, all four walls covered in books). He had complete collections of Conan Doyle, Agatha Chrstie, Tintin, Asterix, Monteiro Lobato and other stuff, and I used to spend a lot of time in his office, reading those after school. Then we got a computer and SNES and GBA emulators happened in my life... Then we got cable TV and Warner and Sony happened as well...

If you are with 10+ ppl around striving the same, ofc not.
