Yep, it is a Wii U exclusive.

Have you tried the Odin Sphere remake for PS4?
I have not. But I did know it came out and I'm sure it looks absolutely beautiful on PS4. I never really wanted to go back though because I put a lot of time into it on PS2. And the 2D sidescroller style combat was also never really my thing either if I'm being completely honest. I know that for a lot of people that's a huge part of the appeal. For me I almost loved it in spite of that.

My gameplay preferences I've always been more of a turn based JRPG direction. Those tend to be the ones I can replay over and over again.

It's part of why I'm so stoked that Valkyria Chronicles 4 and that game is shaping up to be a dream come true for me.

What kind of RPG? Like story based, multiplayer, coop?

If your looking for an RPG with a strong story I'd say you won't have much like finding a free one. You can find a lot of those cheap but not free. Best you'll probably find in the Free To Play space are Warframe(Action Loot Game), Fate Grand Order(Visual Novel/Gatcha game), Doki Doki Literature Club (Terrifying Visual Novel).

Hi guys. Are there any good online RPG that is free?
You mean a story-driven MMORPG?

Yeah, there's quite a few - but the main issue is that most have a dwindling/low player base.

To be honest, I'm sure there are many people here who know the scene better than I do.
I'm kinda over the current mmorpg formula.

I prefer to avoid MMORPG if possible. People are assholes, in general. But I'm okay with decent story, doesn't have to be groundbreaking, but the gameplay should be fun.

I haven't played FGO yet, if you're talking about the mobile game. If it's anything like DBZ Dokkan Battle or One Piece, Treasure Cruise, then no thanks.

Anybody else enjoying RPG heaven right now?

Dragon Quest 11 & Valkyria Chronicles 4.. Andn it seems like the new Assassin's Creed is practically a greek RPG . So I have some hopes for that. Then Red Dead which isn't really an RPG but might as well be for all the role playing elements. Just a lot of potential winners out there.:pleased

I'm playing Dragon Quest XI atm. Where are you at in the game?

Valkyrie Chronicles 4 should arrive at my home today, but my brother will probably play that game.

Still very early. Maybe 2 hours? I'm enjoying it a lot. It really feels like a prettier version of all those PSone RPG's I used to love. How far are you into it?

I have put maybe an hour into Valkyrie Chronicles 4 as well. Pretty great so far. I just love this gameplay system.

Umm... I got the fifth member of the group and I finally got to travel the sea.

Yeah, I heard the VC 4 is much better than the previous game.

Haha, I'm a very long ways from that. But I'll get there. Especially with all the hilarious enemy animations.

That's what people are saying. Which I have mixed feelings about honestly as a big fan of all 3 previous ones. I actually loved the almost FFTactics style Job class system introduced in the 2nd game, it was the subpar story I had issues with. The third I thought was better all around but it never came west (I played the fan translation on my PSP) and it stayed forever locked on the PSP despite coming out at the end of the consoles life cycle.

I'd say this is more like a sequel to the first game. Less mechanically complicated than 2 and 3. No shield units or sword units. No class changing but double the number of units deployable at a time(10) and much bigger and more drawn out levels with more of a story component.

Oh, Valkyrie Revolution... that was bad.

Took me two and half weeks but I rolled credits on Dragon Quest XI. Which apparently is not the end.:XD

It was funny because I was like "Meh, this story is ok.. kinda predictable". Now I'm in the post game part and I'm like "This is awesome!". It's such a weird twist but I'm loving it. It's was just really hilarious to me that at like 60ish hours and after you see a screen that literally says "Fin" the best part of the game starts.:amuse

Dang, I’m still not done with the game :XD

The ending is linked to Dragon Quest III from what I’ve read online

It is not a short game. I thought I could manage to beat both this and Valkyria Chronicles 4 by the time Red Dead Redemption 2 came out but... I don't think I'm going to make it.:sweatdrop

Not far at all. 4 hours maybe? I've focused almost entirely on Dragon Quest.

Finally rolled credits on Dragon Quest for the 2nd and final time.

Really good game. It gets significantly better after you beat it and make into the journey toward the true end. It wasn't bad before that but the story didn't grab because of how predictable it was. But in the post credit game things get crazy in the fun JRPG way as things ramp up toward the final FINAL showdown.

Also the hardest boss in the game is absolutely the stupid spider boss. That guy was a jerk. Especially the second time you have to fight him.

Yeah, that spider boss was a pain. Most of the times, the boss battles weren’t bad especially since I was over leveled.

In JRPG's "over leveled" is appropriately leveled.:amuse

TWEWY is fun, but the Switch is so heavy I can only comfortably play it for one hour at a time :(

Yeah I find myself shifting a lot when using it in handheld mode. I guess if you can support your elbows it isn't too bad but that sort of hurts the portability of it.

Supposedly there are rumors of a new revision next year and people seem to think it'll be more portable.... whatever that means.
