The studio is definitely a surprise, and not exactly a good one, but well, if 5toubun, Tokyo Revengers and Kanojo mo Kanojo proved something is that you don't need a high quality production to get a decent or even huge boost in sales, and at least being a 2022 release, it doesn't look like is going to be super rushed.

The studio is definitely a surprise, and not exactly a good one, but well, if 5toubun, Tokyo Revengers and Kanojo mo Kanojo proved something is that you don't need a high quality production to get a decent or even huge boost in sales, and at least being a 2022 release, it doesn't look like is going to be super rushed.

A bad studio choice, a lot of incompetence on Kodansha/producer and a reoccurring issue I'm noticing.

Those examples are poor since the former 2 at least had good growth prior to the anime so the anime could only push it further. Orient on the other hand doesn't have that so it's far harder to get a boost especially more so when the adaptation does not seem that promising.

I'm happy with the CD/composer but the rest, especially the director & studio is alarming for me. Btw UQ Holder also had a long release time and look how it's anime turned out so I would lower expectations. The studio hasn't done 2 cour anime in well over a decade either so yeah that makes it worse.

There's no doubt that the designs look good but tbh they look watered down in the key visual.

I was watching the crunchyroll stage and the series compositor - Mariko Kunisawa - was pretty much saying how she had to cut/rearrange a lot of the material. She could be talking about the slow pacing it had with the earlier arcs (which is good since the pacing could use a lot of work) or they have to cram a lot of stuff into 1 cour (which is worst case scenario). Like I said before, this studio hasn't done 2 cours in well over a decade...

The PV looks better than expected in some areas but it does look like the production is struggling. I'm hoping we see Aito Ohashi (pkmn XYZ/SM animator) animate the fights & think there's a good chance of him coming

Tsugumi will be voiced by Rie Takahashi (Megumin from Konosuba) & Naotora will be voiced by Satoshi Hino (Rengoku from KnY)

Tsugumi is my fav part of this PV, she looks too cute

I think it's most likely going to be 1 cour and it'll be airing on TV Tokyo too. Hoping for good OP/ED

I agree it looks better than expected while in others looks a bit meh, but tbh, Orient in terms of visual feels like a hard series to bring in anime form, so considering the studio, seems like a pretty decent job so far and characters visual at least look on model the entire PV.
