Its the element of surprise. Wakabayashi should naturally be at the far left corner if he wanted to stop Levin. Instead, the ball went from Levin to Sho to Schneider within say a second.

Yes & No. Sometimes, you have to mark midfielders in the midfield. In this case, Schneider's a striker and marking him in the midfield is redundant.
The point of marking a player is not to take...

The coach reminds me of Light Yagami for some reason.

Man. Nakayama must be real nice to be parodied like that. If it wasn't a parody, he's still real cool.
December 02, 2008 09:55 AM
XD. All that brutality and its still just the middle of the first half.

Vince Young? The Titans were almost unbeatable this season BECAUSE of his injury.
November 15, 2008 12:50 PM
I love it when the author settles disputes like that.

From re-reading HNI in anticipation of the anime, I stumbled across chapter 148. Its the chapter when everyone sings "Champion" in the karaoke lounge after the Suzuki-Volg match.
I googled it and...

Its football. Its not as if some evil mad scientist will conquer the world using evil genetically enhanced football players.

CT chars aren't that strong until you get their level up cards. For example, Nitta at lv 4 is S5 K3 D3. But Nitta at lv5 is S6 K4 D4. And that's pretty decent for a starting striker.

I think that's precisely why Takahashi described the snake mark as "....on the verge of a foul". Meaning its almost a foul. just almost. And maybe he's worked out the timing to let go precisely...

Well...Maybe. CT has been running for 25 years now. His original fan base includes Del Piero & Zidane. Both of them are about 40 now.
Switching to Young Jump might've been a smart move. His...

I think he lost once in volume 5.
November 02, 2008 09:35 PM
Meh. I can't tell the difference anyway. As long as its in English, its fine by me.

In the panel with Ishizaki & Urabe, we have a small cameo from Masashi Nakayama. Frankly, I'm impressed that Shinji managed to notice such a tiny detail and translated it accordingly.

They just appeared shortly after Kimura & Aoki lost. In chapter 819, to be specific.

It's not arrogant of Tsubasa. He doesn't mind being placed out of position if it's for the team's collective good. But he still prefers to play in his favourite position. I mean. Who wouldn't?
November 01, 2008 08:37 AM
No, more like
Schester: If we can't score against Wakabayashi from outside the penalty box..(dramatic pause).., we'll have to score from inside the penalty box.
October 31, 2008 10:12 PM
I think he wants us to discuss about Yoichi Takahashi mastering the art of making obvious statements seem epic.
October 28, 2008 03:32 AM
RL example. England with Gerrard & Lampard. Its been years and not even Capello can figure out how to make these guys work together effectively. Sometimes, two stars can slow each other down.
October 19, 2008 11:07 PM
I laughed when Schester said
"If we can't score from outside the penalty box, we'll just have to score from inside the penalty box"
I love it when characters state the obvious as if it was a...

When CT was at its peak readership, there were a lot of Hyuga-Wakashimazu yaoi fangirls. There were even several yaoi doujin pieces.
