Oh, this thread wasn't forgotten after all ;) Good to see you too, Mikkih!
Btw, I found it in a manga, but I think this is actually a passage from Hakagure. No wonder it was so tough. Thanks for...
I came across this untranslated passage in a samurai manga (Shigurui) and tried to read it. I kinda get the general idea, but I can't seem to grasp the flow of these sentences at all. Can anyone help...
Made a trans if anyone is sick of waiting :^_^
The butterflies dance, disturbing the blooming flowers
The shadow of a fish darts across a pond
Where could this paradise be found?
Well, freefalling from orbit would take at least a couple minutes. But even if space didn't kill them, slamming into the atmosphere at like 2000mph definitely would. Thank nonexistent god for gantz...
I gotta respect Miura for refusing to work at the sweatshop pace that most mangaka are forced into, but seriously why even bother "serializing" if you're barely releasing 100 pages a year. I wish...
Thanks. And I didn't realize えのころ飯 was a real thing. Now I kinda wanna try it...
Hi, mikkih! Knew you'd come through for me :derp
The other guy cuts him off with 聞きたくもないわ！ So yeah, that makes sense. heh.
This line from a manga is giving me trouble. This character is a samurai from Satsuma, so I'm guessing this is Kagoshima-ben. I don't know much about the dialect except what I got from google though...
In physics terms, information and mass are both just forms of energy. It's the circle of life :D
I didn't read the whole thing because I'm lazy, but this is the long and short of it:
Casca's acting like she's looking for something and they can't figure out why, then Puck realizes that the...
Heh, it was. But I wasn't sure if Gantzer127 knew that or not.
No mention of reviving them. He just said they're amazing/wonderful (subarashii).
English scan is out btw
Thanks for the spoilers as always, GAT :super
Btw, the Kannon statue face's full line is:
"We will show you in a way that is easy to understand...that humans are no more than 'things'"
At least our video games are uncensored :hee
Hope it was better than the English at least.
Thank you. I thank you heartily :derp
lol good shit
なんだここは？ ＝ ここは何ですか？ = What is this place?
Putting the subject at the end is a colloquial way to emphasize a question. It shouldn't be read as two separate sentences. It's possible that he...
I wish you could see how high i'm raising my eyebrow right now
Haha. Nice. I didn't even notice the first time through.
Pretty sure X思いをする just means "to feel X," like feeling an emotion. So: "Living is fruitless/pointless if it means feeling sad" or "Living at the expense of being sad is pointless."
Every Gantz fan knows that the real heroes are the rapist, the murderous vampire, and the psychotic cat-killing school shooter, and the moral is that genocide is the answer to all the world's...
Yup, I think you're right. He was probably talking about remote controlling the Gantz computers rather than the mech. The original line was kinda ambiguous:
んじゃ遠隔操作で。。。 俺も。。。 参戦して。。。ッと
That works too. The Japanese just says "matteiru zo" without a pronoun, so whatever fits best with the context.
Maybe I'll do some rereading with your edits, Elevator ;)
First two bubbles are "zeh zeh" (panting)
"Don't think it's over just like that"
"He's waiting for you
I guess you could translate it as "Though he may never return," but it's pretty final-sounding overall.
I wanted to change it to "NOTE: Poochie died on the way back to his home planet." :derp
Sorry about the wait for the english scan guys. I got stuck at work yesterday and couldn't get the trans to MHario till this afternoon. I'm sure he's working his scanlating sorcery as we speak ;)
It's Nishi. They're promoting the Nishi oneshot that's being packaged with the new movie DVD.
Heh. It looks like goop leaking out of Kaiji's suit, but it's just the little mangareader logo that got stamped in a bad spot. You can see it more clearly at the top of this page:...
Yeah, it's a little early for spoilers. I was just screwing around :P
spoiler for 353
Cherry flies into a rage at the sight of the zaibatsu group. The mustache guy drops dead in mid sentence.
Kurono, thinking quickly, shouts to Cherry to take control of the gantz...
AAAHAHAHAHA. Oku you son of a bitch. I literally just loled at the ending at work. This is what Gantz is all about people. Take notes.
Gantz calls him "Virgin" :) That's all we know.
Oh man. I didn't even notice Nerdo lost his foot in the early scan. Is he gearing up for a heroic death???
(yeah, and he's saying "my foot!" not "run!" Did the trans a bit too fast :P)
She gave her name to Kurono in katakana, so there's no way to tell the Ls from the Rs, but I think her mom called her "Fla" in giant-speak a few chapters ago. So Fla Rarada, or Fla Lalada...or...
"Hah" = heavy breathing. There really isn't a good way to write it out : (
Works for me. Thanks, mikkih!
Having trouble translating from a crappy scan, but these two panels look like someone with a bit more skill than me could figure them out - so MH, I call upon your powers! :amuse
I didn't think this deserved a thread:
I have no idea. It's part of a flashback collage, so there's no context. Any help...
I think you missed the gist of the report. The interior of the ship is the size of North America, but on the outside it's a lot smaller - that's what their space compression technology does.
Having trouble with a few lines here.
EDIT: Here's the page: http://lionel818.webs.com/undefined/156.jpg
The context: They're going to fight a guy named Masaki (柾). Jouya says it's his duty to...
One of the tough things about translating from Japanese is accepting the fact that there's a whole lot of stuff that doesn't have a proper English equivalent, and when you try to shoe-horn one in it...
You'd think if the giants wanted the Gantz team dead they could just transfer them to outer space or something. Oh well. Maybe they wanna have some fun with them instead.
Not feeling so good about this one! Well, here goes anyway:
1. sumomo mo momo mo momo no uchi
"Plums and peaches and a peach's house?" Heh. Is momo no uchi is like a peach pit maybe?
It's not really fair to call the Japanese sheep-like. There were plenty of dissenters in Japan, but the government had been crushing them into submission for decades before the term "Nazi" even...
A+! Damn right :D These are really fun, btw.
Took a little while, but I got it. Charlie says: "Ten歳です" ("I am a genius." lol)
Too bad I can't remember my colors very well:
あか, あお, しろ,...
原地の生き物 (the beings/creatures of "homeworld?") にも (also) 性差があって (have sexual differences)...お互い尊重し合っている (and respect each other) のね (you know/don't they)
Make of that what you will :D
I might have screwed that line up actually, but it was too late to change it :P
It's probably be the opposite "We have sex differences on our planet too, but we respect each other."
Pretty bad at this. I cheated and looked up とんび, but I'm still not sure if I'm right :p
The big 奥浩哉 on the lower left says "Oku Hiroya" ;)
And I'm sure we'll be releasing it at Utopia. Don't worry :D
SFX quiz, eh? Cool. I'll try
1) sound of rain maybe?
2) dunno a good english equivalent "pssshh?" :D
2) Plip plip
