I'm trying to learn croatian, but it's hard :P
Here you can ask me about language and information about the country of Croatia

I'm an American who's half croatian (other half is Irish). I visited Istria last year with my grandmother and got to see where she grew up in Kastelir. Loved the country and scenery is absolutely breathtaking, beaches were nice and the red dirt was pretty cool to see. I don't really know too much of the language though so I apologize for only being able to contribute to the discussion in english. My mom, aunts, and grandmother all speak it fluently and that helped us get around the country but I was never able to pick it up.
All I really know are these few words and phrases: dobro, hvala, molim, jako dobro. dobro vece, do videnja, dobro jutro.
I'm very weak in my vocabulary as you can see but I was at least able to be courteous to people when I met them in Croatia. My grandmother ended up visiting some people she knew from long ago and it was at least nice that I could say hi, bye, and thank you to them .
Been twice in Croatia. Last time was summer 2005, in a small town near Zadar. Would love to go down to Dubrovnic one day, or Split. Latter I heard is being a wild city, so rather Split o/
Osijek je meni najbolji grad u hrvatskoj možda zato što sam tamo rođen, cijeli rat sam bio u osijeku, i još uvijek sam u njemu pa je možda stvar navike, ali ne može se poreći da ti je sve blizu.
To me Osijek is the best city in croatia , maybe because i was born in it, I spent the whole war in it, and I still in Osijek so it's maybe just the matter of habit, but you can't deny that everything you need is close.
