Ok, does anyone know for sure whether Ginga Force on the 360 is region free?
it does. It links to an official announcement in Japanese from the Ginga Force twitter account.
In an interview with Eurogamer Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida revealed that the rumors that PS4 will block used games are false. PS4 does will not block them. If you own a physical copy, as far as PS4 is concerned it's yours.

It's also been officially confirmed that the PS4 does NOT require a constant online connection. You can play games offline if you choose.

The official website for the PS4 is now up and here is the official specs for the PS4:
Sony also stated that the reason why they didn't show the box was that it wasn't ready. It won't be revealed until later this year.Quote:

There will be a Game of Thrones FB game.
Anybody know of any cool RTS games that you can play online with your friends? It's been aaaages since I last played a good RTS.
After the ps4 trailer or whatever that was, this came into my mind...
Street Fighter for SNES
Tekken for the ps1
Tekken for the ps2
Tekken for the ps3
Crysis 2 for the ps3
Killzone (I think) PS4
Where the hell is the difference!?
Honestly, it looks like a ps3.5 at most.
And if someone says "how much do you want something to improve in this generation?!"
Twillight Princess (Wii)
Skyward Sword (Wii)
Next Zelda (Wii U)
Just my opinion though...
Yeah, I hope I'm not the only one that thinks that Sony is doing the ps4 just for the sake of it.
The ps3 is still such a high end device and even with the ps4...I'm still not exactly sure how much better the gap is.
I mean at least you can tell how big a jump is from ps1 to 2 to 3.
When the PS3 was made they went light on RAM, even by the standards of the time. In fairness both consoles did (as both have essentially 512mb). This is starting to cripple both consoles big time. I don't know if you remember the big Skyrim DLC issue for PS3 but that was basically caused by a RAM bottleneck. There are lots of ways developers have been sidestepping those issues as best they can(such as lowering resolution) but it's a problem that prevents both consoles from performing they way they otherwise could. Especially in a world where PC's have like 10 times that. When people wondered why the PS3 couldn't do party voice chat and why the XMB bar was always so slow, that's why. It literally didn't have the memory to spare.
That RAM is essential for developing games and there just isn't enough of it on either console anymore to keep up, and there hasn't been for a while really.
The PS4 has 8GB's of GDDR5 RAM. I'm not lie and say I fully understand what "GDDR" means. But my understanding is that high speed RAM designed for use in graphics cards. So basically it takes a console that has RAM inferior to almost any computer and upgrades it far past the current average for Gaming PCs.

Yeah I heard about that DLC.
Also, the ps3 does suffer from choppy frame rates time to time.
The 8gb ram is no doubt a big improvement, but is it really something that casual players like me would care about?
Even if I have the money, I don't see myself buying the ps4 anytime in the future simply because I'm fine with the ps3 and what it has to offers.
Like the images posted, the graphics aren't that much of an improvement either. What will I actually be paying for?
All this new functions(mostly social) that sony is trying to incorporate into the ps4 doesn't seems to be worth that huge jump from 3 to 4.
The controller is ugly and the touchpad feels like it is just "there". I don't even know how that touchpad will be essential in games, whatever
I think up of doesn't make sense either.
PS eye feels like another improved version of Kinect and trying to pick up where PS move failed, assuming if it doesn't fail again.
So far the PS4 to me feels like Sony is trying to head in all kinds of direction without knowing exactly where their destination is.
Honestly don't care about the new controller or ps eye, the only thing I believe is attracting me is the 8gb ram.
A touch pad is pretty handy, no reason to take it so negatively... as long as it's not only used to replace start/select. The controller took a couple hints from the nearly perfect 360 one, which is the best direction it could go. The DualShock was dated the day it was born, let's forget that bastard of a banana look-alike, MS has really taken the lead with theirs.
The PS Eye reminds me of the PS eye for the PS3, which reminds me of the EyeToy for PS2, first released in 2003.
Yet, Sony, your dear project Move failed so horrifically, just let it die in peace please.

It is rumored that Microsoft is going to announce their next-gen console this April.
But hey, maybe the games will prove me wrong. Maybe we can use the touchpad for uh...swiping like the ds for ninja gaiden? But then the screen is too small for any actual fun touchpad gameplay, unlike the Wii Tablet and 3DS/DS screens.
I'm not really taking it negatively as much as I really don't see the point.
And Sony still can't make it right. It's been 10 years. Hey maybe the PS4 greatest asset will be the PSEye. But I highly doubt that either because there's the Kinect already.Quote:
That's why I really don't think a ps4 is needed at this moment.Quote:
The only thing that the playstation 3 needed instead of all this pseye and new controller is the 8gb ram upgrade. And sony used this to jump from 3 to 4.
But the price? It makes casual players like me reconsider especially when I have the ps3.
PS3 does suffer from choppy framerates, but most of the time games run fine.
And games with terrible lag are developer's fault too. Sorry, I'm not the type that really goes for 1080hd smooth gameplay all the time. I'm mostly satisfied with having fun and the ps3 had been a lot of fun.
The only "fun" the ps4 seems to be able to provide is the graphic upgrade, yay, things are more beautiful and perfectly clear.
For me, that impact will last for an hour. The rest is how the console, game and me have fun. Take Ni no Kuni for example, I was wow'd by the graphics, but that only lasted less than an hour too. I got used to the graphics pretty soon.
I realize not everyone thinks this way, that perhaps a huge number of peeps will go get it for the 8gb ram or heck for the touchscreen(seriously?) but anyway, despite all the negativism...I still hope that PS4 don't end up like VITA.
