No i highly doubt that, Neji is a prodigy. He constantly excelled in his art form which is the byakugan and the gentle fist. since part1 we saw neji for being recognize for his excellence. in part 2 he has progress even more by becoming a jonin. Hinata on the other has come a long way but her resolve and mentality are still weak. she lack true determination to become strong even tough she desire to be strong. Neji is the future of the hyuga clan.
Neji was portrayed to be a genius and a big theme in part I was that Hinata is going to be the Hyuuga's main member and Neji, who is actually stronger, who is a genius and uses the Clan's heiress to it's perfection, has to protect her, eventhough he really deserves the "throne of the Hyuuga".
Plus she is a kunoichi, who are known for being threatened badly by Kishimoto Masashi.
I doubt such a thing will ever happen. For starters, it would be the worst form of butchering kishi could ever do to neji. Neji is supposed to be a prodigy among prodigies and hinata was set out to be worst than useless scum. Even if she isn't that, and has improved herself over the timeskip we have no reason to believe she is anything but average.Dunno, I think that if hinata become stronger than neji it will result in neji being needlessly butchered by kishi. I would think it makes no sense at all. In a way, it would be enough of an accomplishment for hinata to get the strength neji had in part 1 lol.
She's a girl so no. Kishi has no idea what girls are really like or any skill in developing them.
It's just like Darth said: No dick, no game..... that's Kishi's style........ annoying, I know. Specially when she's my favorite anime character. But I still hope that the Ghost of Christmas Past can show Kishi and thing or two about developing girls.
It may be hard for him to develop girls character wise, but lack of development ability wise is inexcusable. Then again, most of the male cast got screwed in that department too so it's not like he's discriminating. Hinata has shown more development than any other side character in part 1 on that front (which isn't saying much).
She will never surpass Neji, maybe in death but shit, has she even surpassed Hanabi?
You know, I never really bought that Hinata couldn't beat Hanabi. Given her age, rank, and personality, any losses in the pre-Timeskip era were from lack of confidence and her kindness. Hinata could have beaten Hanabi any time in their spars, however, Hinata wouldn't have wanted to hurt her younger sister, and Hiashi kept pushing for one of them to win and Hanabi, being younger, would have responded to that stimuli.
Hinata doesn't have to surpass Neji to become leader of the Clan. Given the fact that Hiashi trusted her enough to make her the Leader in his absence during the Pain arc, that says something.
I hope for Hinata that she will surpass Hanabi (her little sister), but she got NO CHANCE to beat Neji.
He's just the best that there is, maybe even better than Hinata's dad.
And I don't even think that she will be the heiress of the Hyugga clan.
Neji will be.
Naruto promised that he will change the Hyugga way once he become Hokage, so, I think that there will be no more "Branch Family" in the Hyugga in the end, and that Neji will be the head of the clan.
I'm also, kinda liking the idea of a NejiXHinata romance, even though it's not pointing that way right now...
By having them being together and rule together on the Hyugga, both of their dreams will be fulfilled.
Hinata won't beat neji. Not only it wouldn't make sense but she is far to unimportant so far.
Neji and Hinata together? Well, I don't see that idea as sick or wrong at all, even given their genetic similarity (and it is proven that the only genetic taboo for this type of inbreeding is that it can cause mutation over time, but isn't Byakugan itself a mutation in the first place?). Society would think it strange, but "royals" aren't above doing such to keep their bloodline pure, so why not? I imagine that if Hinata's father was forced to give control of the clan to Hinata, he would want to make certain that their offspring would not be failures like her, so he would want to marry her off to the most ideal candidate to conceive and rear strong children, and in that instance that person would be Neji.
That is, unless naruto marries her. If that's the case then I don't see how the heck Hyuuga would react to having a man like Naruto at the top of their clan. Either Hinata would get booted, or Hyuuga would then be lead by a non-Hyuuga, which WOULD really serve the purpose of Naruto changing the Hyuuga clan. But do i ever see the story taking it that far? I seriously doubt it. Hyuuga are just fodder right now. As useless as their heir.
Ugh, the Hyuga, being in a society of advanced medicine would have abandoned incest to keep their bloodline 'pure' ages ago. Neji and Hinata marrying would not only be sick and wrong in the real world, but also sick and wrong in Konoha.
Not only that, Hinata is a failure due to lack of confidence, not due to a lack of talent. Hell, that Twin Lion Step she showed really shows her potential, and even in pre-Timeskip, she was about the only Kunoichi in the room who could have fought Neji for that extended amount of time.
And if Naruto and Hinata marry, Naruto wouldn't be Clan Leader, that'd be Hinata.
