Written By: Hashimoto Izou (until chapter 60)

Genre: Crime, Drama, Martial Arts, Mature
Serialized In: Manga Action (volume 1-19), Evening (Volume 20-Present)
At the age of sixteen Ryo Narushima was a genius and looked to have no trouble of getting into Tokyo University and joining the elite of society. However, that summer something cracked inside Ryo's head. With a small knife he brutally murdered both of his parents only leaving his sister alive and cowering in a corner. It is at this grotesque incident that our story begins.
After volume 19 Shamo changed publishers, from Futabasha's Manga Action to Kodansha's Evening magazine. Beginning with volume 20, chapter count was restarted.
Shamo went on extended hiatus in 2008 when artist Tanaka Akio sued author Hashimoto Izou for 150 million yen. Tanaka claimed he was the creator of Shamo and sued for copyright control. Hashimoto did write the series in the beginning but became progressively less involved after volume four. The series returned in July of 2011, with Tanaka credited as writer and artist. Serialization resumed with chapter 61.
Contains realistic violence, nudity, drug use, and adult content. This manga will not appeal to everyone.
Hi, I recently started reading Shamo. I've read all scanlations released so far but when I looked up how regularly it's released, I noticed that it was released quite frequently up until a few months ago. Does anybody have any information as to why?
This is not whining, I am simply looking for information.=)

Lol , yeah me too ... i kept reading till the chapiter 186 , it's when Ryu Narushima fight the Kung Fu Monkey ... Damn i Want More !! i kept searching for newer chapiters but i couldn't find 'em ! Damn ...... i was Happy till i saw this article , i'm doomed now !! ^^
Ah, sorry.=) The annoying thing is that the raws are 6 volumes ahead of the scanlations... so close, yet so far away.=(
what's you Recent Volume/Chapiter that you read ?!
I read up to 186.=) Though I'm seriously considering downloading the raws... even though I can't understand anything.=(
you can't understand the language? or something else ?! by the Way, i'm still at Chapiter 186
Yea, I don't Japanese.=( Not understanding what's being said is quite annoying but I really want to read the rest.=)
if ya want more faster go to Manga Sketchbook and see if you can help them with the scanlation. And while you're there you can thank them for the time n effort they put down.
Everyone is still at chapter 186, because that's how far along manga-sketchbook are.
If you look at all their previous Shamo releases, you'll notice they had breaks like this before.
I'm guessing there'll be another release relatively soon. They also often release several chapters at once.
Anyway, I don't really mind, because while the raws are still 6 volumes or so ahead, the manga is stalled for now in Japan anyway, and it was always slow to begin with. So we're still catching up.
Is this the manga about the dude that kills his parents and then goes to jail. If it is my dawg told me about it but I never got the chance to check it out.
yeah it is, check it out right HERE
Thanks. Im gonna read it right now!
