i think ukitake was talking about kaien... its pretty understandable to get shocked after seing someone who looks and acts almost exactly the same as someone close to you whos died.... and the guy byakuya used senkei against is probably dead, if not why would senkei be his best attack if it had 0% success rate, the guy was probably someone importat from his past.
I can not believe none of you have thought of this.
The other person to ever see it, was himself 0.o
He has obviously seen it before to be able to use it.
So that would mean he was fighting against a vasto lorde non arrancar (as in a vasto lorde menos grande)?
pretty much so. that could have been any time before he fought ichigo. but i would believe that it would be very recent, because he most likely would not have been strong enough to defeat a vasto lorde 50 years ago, and may just barely be able to defeat one now.
Kenpachi said that there was only one person who he has ever admired (I forgot when he said this )....
Byakuya has only shown Senkei, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi to one person other than Ichigo and one person only.
What I wish to understand is people's views on who this person or person's might be. They could be connected as in being the same person. At first I thought it was Isshin and even now up to this point I don't see any evidence that would lead me in any other direction. So please what are your thoughts? And as always, keep it clean.
i guess Isshin would be as good a guess as any.
but it may not be anyone we know or ever will know. it could never be spoken of again, for either or both cases.
same kind of deal i see with Kirio Hikifune. everyone wants these people to be connected or be someone we already know. can't they just be their own seperate characters?
but i do have one strong thought on the subject. i do not think the person Kenpachi spoke of and the person Byakuya spoke of are the same person.
chances are, the other person who saw Byakuya's senkei in battle was killed by it.
You may be right. The person who Byakuya showed Senkei could very well be dead. Any reason as to why you don't think they are connected?
well, if we're assuming Byakuya's senkei killed that other opponent (just the way he spoke about it made it seem like there wasn't hope of survival to those who force him to use it O_O), and we know of Kenpachi's (and all of squad 11's) hard headed, macho mentality, and their thoughts regarding kido type zanpakuto's and flashy techniques aside from just fighting...would Kenpachi respect a person who was eliminated by such a zanpakuto/technique?
he would probably look down on them.
i don't know just spitballing
Yeah your probably right...Not many people rely on just power however. Ikkaku hides his bankai for that reason and Yumichika hides his shikai ever so decently...However, I think it has been proven that Kenpachi has used flash step...Correct me if i'm wrong.
i can't remember a specific instance of him flash-stepping, but i'm sure you're right. i can't imagine him being as good as he is and fighting the people he fights without at least a somewhat decent flash-step. it's probably just not as noticeable because they didn't just come right out and say it like other characters sometimes do when using it.
actually... when was it in the time line that he made his remark about only ever having respected one person? was it it the flashbacks of before he came to SS? or after?
if it was after coming to SS, it could be Yama. that might be too obvious though.
or maybe if the theories of Unohana being his kendo instructor are true, maybe it's her. haha. that would annoy me, though. it would put a damper on Kenny's awesome, pure manly essence.
