It was a part of the fantasy and urban fantasy reading kick I've been on lately. My favorite of all the books series I've gone through was the Alex Verus series. Great modern day wizard book about with a Diviner (wizard who can see the future) who runs a magic shop in a alternate version of London where Light and Dark wizards live together under and uneasy truce.
Well I powered through the first three books of A song of fire and ice in one week so i'm taking a break as of now but I plan on finishing in a few months.
Well it was actually my first read I tried to get into the fourth but all those new names prevented that either that or subconsciously I want a break lol.
The fourth book throws a bunch of people off. A bunch of characters aren't in it, since the original manuscript was too big and GRRM had to split off some of it. The parts he split off make up the first half of the fifth book and then about halfway through it characters from the fourth book pop up again and the timelines merge.
I had read the first book already, but I reread the series from the beginning. It took me like 6 weeks or so to fully catch up from what I remember.
...and here I thought I was plowing through them with a good speed
Lol I did it for.........Pizza!!.
I think I did it faster... like 5 books in 1,5 week
But I was without classes, alone in the city... So I was reading for something like 20h and sleeping only 4h a day
yes, I'm kind of crazy don't judge me
I'm not a quick reader...apparently
I think you just have better things to do.
Uh, not really. Especially not at the time I was reading them
You know I must point out there is a lack of variety in fictional books, I would love to read more things like Hero, I am number 4, and Obedience.
