i think chapter 28 missing a page.
i get it from the raw so can anybody translate it.
Edited by GK - the page wasn't showing up in the spoiler tags because I think it was too big, so I just removed the img tags.
Good catch caesars_sa - didn't even realize there was a missing page.
I'll ask NJT to translate it.

ahh!! basilisk- it ended so soon. soo short- i mean the anime(i finished all 24 episodes and have them on computer). i havent read any of the manga though. so i guess i have to go to stoptazmo and get the manga. hmm!! i really wanted tenzen to fight off genosuke with their full abilities but ...
well, off to the manga- you guys have convinced me- so here i go.
This is not a series which was aimed at a long time I think. The story has got a straight line so it finishes fast in comparison to other popular series which seem to be ongoing as long as they're popular enough.
But that was also something I liked about Basilisk. Somehow it's really simple: a war ongoing between the two ninja clans with a dramatic showdown. Period.
It's nice to read and you don't get bored.
Agreed with Miso, it was fast and furious which I liked.
just finished the manga- all five volumes. Reading binge- now i see why it is quite similar to the anime- such freaking powers.
(Spoiler tagged for obvious reasons - GK)
So the anime IS similar in plot? (That was a question early in this thread.) I haven't seen the anime myself, only the first couple of episodes.
I like Basilisk so far (downloaded all chapters, but haven't read them all yet due to my friend ALSO downloading Hellsing )
The drawings are awesome, the ninja powers too but most importantly, I like the way the story progresses. It's somehow cruel the way people just die. It makes the story more real, more adult, more war like. It's not like Naruto were our beloved Gaara died and was brought back, or -god forbid- Dragonball... Still, I don't mind Naruto being going on and on, I just wish I had all the volumes (even the ones Kishimoto hasn't even thought of yet) so that I could read it in a matter of days. All this wait for every chapter is tiresome (plus the chapters are progressing the story so slowly I often find myself forgeting key elements and never having "the big picture" in my mind).
Bottom line is, different manga are great for different reasons, and Basilisk is great in its own way. I know I love it, and will spread its fame
Awesome to know you're liking it so far, Anax. Yes, it's quite different and realistic. Now THAT's the world of ninja.
But like you, I don't begrudge Naruto for being aimed at a younger audience. The characters are memorable enough and the important scenes well written enough that I love Naruto for these reasons. I agree with you though, it will be good when we finally have the complete story of Naruto in our hands, just like Basilisk.
Sadly, I finished reading the manga... The ending wasn't all that unpredictable. The plot too. From the first chapter I had a feeling it was going to be a short, cruel, blood bathed story... And it was an epic one at that. The creator used pain to convey his messages, though I don't know if he included them on purpose or if they were manifestations of his subconcious in conjunction with his experiences... If I were at home now I'd be crying, but I'm not, so the tears are welling up inside me and the blood is pounding in my neck... I don't think I'm made to endure such sorrow...
Excuse me... I can't go on...
