Everytime I watch that anime my heart sinks. In ice-cold water. Until it stops. T_T sakit sa heart.
I tried making my boyfriend watch it and five minutes in we decided it was so depressing, not a good way to spend the afternoon... >.>
But, on my own I've watched it maybe four times. I was even surprised that it had two live-action adaptations... I tried looking around for it, couldn't decide which one was the one I should watch- and forgot about it. Also because, maybe the anime had such strong impact that I kind of expected a mediocre live adaption so I didn't push it.
Wala akong pakialam dun sa live action adaptation. Madidisappoint lang ako.
Kinukumpara madalas yung Grave of the Fireflies sa Barefoot General at Schindler's List ni Spielberg
re: Grave of the Fireflies- No other anime/film has made me feel so depressed in my entire life. The only thing that would comes close would be Nana's Everyday Life, a fan-made webcomic based on Elfen Lied, and only if you combine it with her depressio story from the source material. GotF was so depressing that I couldn't even muster the enthusiasm to jerk it for over two weeks.
"Now and then, here and there" comes into mind. the ending theme just fucked me up real bad. sobrang lungkot.
re: The Voice of the Philippines
- anyone watching this shit? Lee Grane got me fucked up as well, so hard na i'd sleep and wake up thinking of her "Angel" rendition. fuck!!!
It's a bit depressing, but not "your sister gon' die of starvation, then you gon' hafta live wit her corpse son"
di pa ako nakikiride sa Voice. I'm so behind the times, but yeah, people are talking about it.

It's because you don't drink enough. Got to drink to keep that tolerance up! Hahaha!
For shame, babs! Us kitchen-folk have a reputation to uphold!

I heard he ended it due to the impending 2012 doomsday.
But it's okay, I'm a non-smoker too, and kitchen people are notorious for smoking. I read that chefs will have a habit to keep them sane. Be it smoking, drinking, or redbull. I'm okay with my manga I guess. And korean drama -__________-
