I started the LN recently( currently at vol 15). I'll try to complete that first part before the end of Railgun S.
I'm currently reading New Testament Vo. 4...of Index XD Wow I can't believe it a legitmate place where I can talk about the novels other than side comments from crunchyroll's /AMP/!
Volume 15 completed
Out of curiosity did you read volume 14? Because that's the real first time it was brought up and trust me, it won't be the last of it.
Yes, I read vol vol 14.It's not that I don't like Touma's "magnetism", like you I wanted to see him more in action. Now that I think about it, all his acctions permit to develop characters(Accelerator, Shiage, Stiyl etc.) Excepted Index and Mikasa, who only realized she loves him in vol.16(only now?!) and has really a similar personality.

I completed the first part !
Toaru Kagaku no Railgun SS
Toaru Majutsu no Index SS2
Volume 17 & 18
Volume 20 21 & 22
I will read Toaru SP and SS New Mythology before starting New Testament.
I started today the first volume and i saw that there are already some differences (like the meeting between Touma and Misaka) and i saw that the first episode is a little part of the first novel. So, are there any differences/cuts/other between anime and novel? I can't believe the animated 10+ novels in 50 episodes.
^Yeah I've heard of these differences, I haven't personally read the volumes that make up the first two seasons but I have seen a bit of vol. 1 and LN!Touma from that point seems a tad different from how anime!Touma was, but I can't really dig into that until I've read those volumes myself (which may take awhile since I'm begining to read the side stories, and other series I've wanted to read like Haruhi, Durarara and Kamachi's other story "a simple survey")
From what I can tell between the feel I get between the LN and anime, I like the LNs better since its more clear as to why certian things happen and how we can feel about certain characters. Before when I just saw the anime, I liked it enough but all I really cared about was just seeing Touma epicly punch someone in the face and some of the humor dynamics from the other characters, in LN form it feels a bit more fulfilling, still a bag of potato chips but family sized... which actually may be a bad analogy, ok I'll shut up now.
Can I just talk about how perfect this is?
