Yeah not really.
15 year old girl loves teenage drama, rates Vampire Diaries 10/10, but that's not true due to problems in plot. Let's not act like people don't vote popular things in other matter too. Voting for music? They chose their favourite song, doesn't make those actually any good, does it?

There wouldn't be any basis on to which degree to acknowledge something if there wasn't for the voting system. Like I said, there will always be biased people in the vote, but if a piece is really worth something, then the majority of votes will overshadow the votes from biased users. Therefore, you can trust the voting system.
Here! Take it!
See? Now you can both have the badass Pain Avatar! Thats how you make everyone happy and achieve world piece... uhm I mean peace!

Funny you write that as IMDB is exemplary one of the reasons why I wouldn't trust online votes.
This is becoming off-topic, but you will realize that there are quiet a lot of series rated highly, some which deserve it's ratings some that obviously don't, because people often only rate the beginning/first seasons of a series. I wouldn't rate BB 10/10 either. :P

8.1 is still a good score and you generally know that the series is good because I said you can know the quality if the score fluctuates around a number. But yeah, agree to disagree.
As a bonus:

I could've included a lot of other various things that concern that but I didn't think I'd have to.
What does any of what you guys are talking about have to do with Naruto?
Exodi is soooo confuzed~~~
It was at first about Naruto and Dragon Ball Z, how DBZ was better since it had better rating than Naruto on IMDB. They're arguing that ratings say a lot and are unbiased, which I highly disagree with. The ratings aren't unbiased or given full consideration of. like Naruto databook stats, it can be vague. Would I give Naruto and Dragon Ball Z (both manga) high rating? Yes I would, but I would still consider Naruto to be superior of the two. Ratings don't always mean everything, as one could enjoy another series that he has given lower rating to than the series with higher rating.
Regardless of the ratings or "unbiased" opinions, I'd say Naruto is much better than DBZ. Anime-wise, both are horrible (although I think DBZ Kai have no fillers, so that'd probably be better).
Read more carefully. It's never been said that there aren't any unbiased voters. There are, but if something is worth a high score, those unbiased voters would be overshadowed or outnumbered by others.
Not really. Make a vote about whats better:
1. A Burger with fries and coke.
2. A serving of Pea-Soup.
The majority will vote for the Mc Donalds menu, but that certainly does't make it the better food... all such a poll will tell you is the well known fact the majority of people simply doesn't give a damn about whats better due to being clueless, biased or whatever else.
