Sometimes a series has all the right ingredients and the potential to become an amazing series, and some of them in fact become really great series….only for all that awesomeness to be shadowed or in some cases even destroyed by a Brutally Atrocious Devastating (B.A.D.) ending.
So here is a thread to discussing those manga, anime or Asian drama endings that have made us want to scream at the writers and demand them to write a new ending.
Note: If the info about your ending is too spoilerish please put it inside a spoiler box. Thanks!
Gu Family Book
This K-drama had all the ingredients to be a fantastic series. The first two episodes of the series were amazing! The other episodes were very good as well, and some of them were even great;Spoiler: do not read unless you have watched all the Gu Family Book episodes or unless you want to be seriously spoiled show
On the bright side, I didn’t allow for that craptastic ending to take away all the fun I had while watching GFB.

I dropped the series a long time ago but I did read the reviews and comments about the way the series ended and judging by what I read the ending was awful!! The characters and the story were completely destroyed by how the series ended. Many fans of the series wondered why the author decided to take that direction with the story and weren't satisfied with the conclusion of the series. Reading the reviews and the comments about VK’s final chapters made me glad to have dropped it a long time ago.

Yeah I always mix these two mangakas of Zatch Bell and Biscuit Hammer I don't know why, thanks for the correction.
Akame ga Kill anime ending for me. It was too hard to believe that key characters could be defeated so easily.
I've watched a ton of anime with terrible endings.
I agree with sharkbait, Akame ga Kill was pretty bad. So was Claymore. Both in that "anime adaptation which ran out of cannon and were re-written to wrap things up by somebody who wasn't quite good enough" way Mekakucity Actors was pretty bad too but in a different way. It was a series with some really good moments that made absolutely not sense in the end. Which, needless to say, pretty frustrating.
xxxHoLic stands out in my mind as one of the worst manga endings.
But all of those and many more are on a lower tier than Evangelion in my mind.
That is the king of bad endings. GAINAX has been responsible for some of the worst endings off all time but they will never top Evangelion. It was so bad that they actually made a movie titled The End of Evangelion because of just how reviled, and justifiably so, that ending became. And even that is pretty terrible.
While a lot of people like Neon Genesis Evangelion for it's attempted deconstruction of the mecha genre and psychological nuances; and even some who like the ending, in my view mistaking it's attempt to justifying lazy writing with pseudo philosophical nonsense. The ending is just so very terrible.
The internet is littered with differing essays on "What the ending really means.". When in reality the true meaning was the the director said...
A whole host of reasons contributed to the ending being the way it is, which they've admitted to. They blew the budget early. Had no plan for how to end the series or direction for character arcs. Changed to whole tone of the series at 3/4th for external reasons.
The result is one of the worst endings of all time.

Well, if Jammin put it like that, Evangelion RE would have crap ending by the end of the movie. Hopefully not happens though, cause I kinda enjoy the so-called "pseudo philosophical ending" they offer.
To avoid off-topic, Usagi Drop ending is somewhat off-putting for me personally. I don't see the reason why the author decided to go towards that direction.
The most recent crappy ending has got to be Liar Game.
Like we all knew it was ending and on its last story arc, but, to introduce a plot twist on the last chapter and leaving everything on a cliffhanger? And seeing Fukunaga after not seeing her for ages just felt very alienating. It's such a shame because the series in itself is great.
