Seems like a pretty normal titan. Nothing indicates it is a shifter, it looks more like classic titans. It may be deviant, but we cannot know that. Either way, it does not mean much to the story.
He's the bald fatty titan whoever want to be.
It seems to me that before the 5 year timeskip the scouting legion had a much higher death and failure rate. It very well could have been a deviant but chances are it was just a regular old titan.
Why do I feel this happens in the future, not in the past?
Cause you're from Fiji?
However in Anime you can see a lot of characters and they are not older, probably younger than the present ones.
maybe that titan in the begin was eren, right before the kill him eren wakes up and says it felt like he just had a very long dream but cant remember anything just like ymir
Seems like a deviant to me... ignoring all those humans right next to it... normal titan would have been all over them already
I always wondered about that, because it seemed like a fairly muscular titan plus it seemed calm and didn't appear to be reaching for any of the soldiers like a regular titan would be doing. However if it were a titan shifter I don't think they'd give it a fat belly like that lol unless the original human had a giant bear belly haha. But you never know ! My guess is that it was an abnormal.
Man I know this is an old thread but I found something you guys didn't point out, I didn't really pay much attention to this in the beginning so yeah
if you look closely there's steam coming out from the back of it's neck, just like titan shifters
So what do you guys think? I sincerely doubt the survey corps killed that titan, so it could be another titan shifter that hasn't been revealed? (It also kind of reminds me of Monkey Titan, the posture probably, all I know is this titan is probably relevant, knowing how Isayama likes to bring back characters that we thought were insignificant.)
No, it's definitely just a normal or a deviant . It's the very first instance of fighting one, and it isn't using any special moves. The scene is there to show us people looking badass while using 3DM. I'm guessing the reason it isn't jumping on any one human is because an entire squad is zipping around it.
Would be a little much to put an major plot hint in the very first scene -not that it hasn't been done before.
