I really like the explanation of some facts related to Cyclism, and I admit that I didn't know much about those.
Guess I have to thank this funny and intriguing anime, along with the author of the manga, who seems to be very knowledgeable about Cyclism.
Commenting the episode itself, Naruko really is a funny character and I think he can be considered the very first friend of Onoda.
Can't wait already for the next episode.
Makishima definitely deserves more screentime, because welll...great scene.
The episode was by far probably one of the better ones around as finally having the three leads together led to a pretty entertaining and intense episode. Particularly, Naruko and Imaizumi are leading the way for being the more interesting personalities in this sports series. Onoda is alright but spends too much time being fascinated and unskilled that he comes off as just less interesting than the other two. Im looking forward to how much he can change and be an interesting asset if he eventually makes the team, while trying to find a place for Imaizumi to fit into the team and Naruko too. Though how are they all going to join when only two of three make it. I wanted two of the other three standard normal characters to make the team, but the ending animation and opening animation doesnt have any of them in it so it is a bit depressing. Hopefully its just a false sign and doesnt indicate who will make the team, as having one from a tennis background and a baseball background who both know their stuff for biking at least made it feel somewhat unique and special seeing nontraditional folks making a name for themselves in something different and something they could feel passionate about.
It was about time for Onoda to join.
Guess from now on we will see more from the Cyclism club and all its members, which is something that I'm looking forward to.
To conclude, I can't believe that Imaizumi watched Onoda's favourite anime. LOL
Naruko and Imaizumi comments continue to provide great laughter and joy (your behind seems smelly). Beyond that they also have that understanding going on which really shows just how skilled they are compared to each other, especially during the scene when Kawada wanted to go ahead and then Imaizumi explained the change in speed once the straightway is reached etc.
I thought the van scene could have been better, came out a bit more comical then suspenseful/tragic though, then again probably moreso since we already knew it had a bike in it that he would be receiving from that brief tease earlier in the episode.
Finally catched up with this show and I'm really glad that I picked it up. Finally a sports Anime with awesome and likeable characters.
That race is really intense. I like Onodas spirit and determination but he is also pretty stupid... The title of this show is very fitting.
Anyway I doubt out little Otaku will win this. I guess he either catches up with them and finishs 3rd place anyway or he drops out shortly before he is able to finish the race. Either way he impressed his Senpai. Way to go.
Onodas progress is almost frightening... His climbing speed is scary, especially for an amateur. But I still believe he will drop out sooner or later. His stamina won't be enough. The race is far from over.
PS: I really like how impressed his Senpai are.
I must say that I too got excited watching this race and Oonoda sure is one hell of an amateur.
I wonder who will win.....I'd say Imaizumi considering that he's more experienced than Oonoda, but the race isn't over yet, so there might be an unexpected turning point., which I hope there will be.
That race to the top was exiting! Onoda deserved that win, although he dropped out in the end. Imaizuki is just too far ahead. Although Onoda looked quite cool with that jersey.
The look an his face at the end was pretty badass. Looking forward to next week.
What an exciting race this was and I'm glad that Onoda was able to shine in it.
Now I suppose that he will train hard in order to ride with Naruko and Imaizumi until the end and I can't wait to see when he'll make it.
Looking forward to the next episode.
