Collective Reading of KONGOU BANCHOU by SUZUKI Nakaba
Hi MH community
We are inviting everyone to join the reading of Kongou Banchou or Diamond Delinquent, an action and funny manga written by the same author of Nanatsu no Taizai.
Next, you will find some reviews and comments gathered from the web, so that you can have an idea about how good/bad this manga could be. After that you will find some possible rules we could be following in the collective reading of it.
Reviews and comments
Where to read:
Buying the books, of course, or in Batoto, mangahere, mangafox, etc...
Rules for the collective reading
Additional to the usual rules of courtesy, we'll follow the following proposed schedule:
Beginning next Monday October 7th, we will read 2 vol per week; and we'll make cuts every Monday during the following 6 weeks. So:
Oct 7 - 13 --------> vol 1, 2 / Chap 1 - 16.5
Oct 14 - 20 --------> vol 3, 4 / Chap 17 - 36
Oct 21 - 27 --------> vol 5, 6 / Chap 37 - 55
Oct 28 - Nov 3 ---> vol 7, 8 / Chap 56 - 75.5
Nov 4 - 10 ---------> vol 9, 10 / Chap 76 - 95.5
Nov 11 - 17 -------> vol 11 & 12. / Chap 96 - 114 End.
We can change the pace if we fell we should read faster or lower. You just have to make the proposal.
Since nobody wants ones reading spoiled by a comment about a chapter or volume not read yet, comments on the respective chapter/volume will be allowed preferably in the week assigned in this schedule. (If is about an ulterior chapter it should have to go inside spoiler tags).
If you're interested, post in this thread telling us you want to participate and letting us know your opinion about the proposed schedule and/or make your own proposal.
Everybody is very welcome to join!

I read the first chapter … its really interesting …. Writer had used Small confusions to create a good humour . However the main protagonist looks pretty big compared to normal citizens of the city and I would like to see how the writer build his character for the city and the school … I am looking forward to start reading it ..
After reading the first chapter it does look light to read and in my opinion we can go 2 volumes per week… However it seems each chapter consists of ~30 pages …. Still my vote is for 2 volumes per week stands… Lets see what is others opinion on it and then the schedule can be decided …..
hi guys.so,i would also like to join in on the collective reading(thanks to uki for invite) .just read some pages of the first chapter...i think 2 volumes per week is quite convenient for me.let's go with it. any other spoiler rules etc we need to think about?
Ey takneeque, Ninja_Pirate.
Apart from the schedule, only all the other usual rules of courtesy. In particular, we should compromise to not spoil the reading others are doing. For instance, if we choose 2 volumes per week, comments on volume 3 or more will not be allowed in the first week, etc.... If it's 2 vol/week, likely we will be posting our impressions on the volumes read for every week at the end of the respective week. Also if anyone fells the pace should be changed, he/she can propose a new pace to the other members, and we'd discussed to reach an agreement. That would be all, if I don't miss something.
I suggest you to subscribe the thread so that you can keep in touch with the posts made by the members here.
Up to now, we have 3 votes for an schedule of 2 vol/week. In regards to when we could begin, what do you guys think about beginning a day from the next week? And what day of the week is better for you to make the cut?
weekend works for me so let's say monday or tuesday...or whatever works for you guys....
Thank you, Ukimix, for the invitation...
Since this is from the Nanatsu no Taizai mangaka, I will give it a try. I liked the first chapter, even though it was quite simple with no depth. This chapter was the used for the characterization of Kongou Akira. His face doesn't show any emotion but his actions do. The art is cool. The story will follow later on.
Up for more, I'll try to keep myself to the schedule but with my busy life I can't promise. I will read all chapters for sure and I'll try to do my best

I actually finished this up not to long ago. Right before I even found out about Nanatsu no Taizai. It's a really good read. Pretty freaking ridiculous in an awesome way.
Hi Koen! So nice you join us!
I also liked so much the first chapter. Specially this page, which instantly make me feel sympathy for Akira.
From the reviews I like the comment about this manga being a simple one, rather a light reading; and also the ones about humor. It calls my attention the comparison with other big one shounen like Naruto, etc... Not that I believe that already, but the author seems to know how to write a good manga, and he's being doing a very good job with NnT. So I thought my self: "it must be good sure".
Let's try 2 vol per week, and we'll see how it results. If you have not that much time, we could discuss the pace to see how can advance together. The purpose of the collective reading is to make possible to chat with others about those complete good comics that we enjoy when we are reading them. :-)

I could not stop laughing when he was messing up that whole place with a car for an excuse for tearing that child's drawing into two pieces.
I will try 2 volumes a week, eventually the first chapter is very long and then its size becomes a weekly amount of pages.
Anyway, thanks for the recommendation
I am in. I can read the 2 volumes this weekend.
You're very welcome Demon!
By the comments, it seems the schedule could be this:
Beginning next Monday we would read 2 vol per week; and we'll make cuts every Monday during the following 6 weeks. So:
Oct 7 - 13 --------> vol 1, 2
Oct 14 - 20 --------> vol 3, 4
Oct 21 - 27 --------> vol 5, 6
Oct 28 - Nov 3 ---> vol 7, 8
Nov 4 - 10 ---------> vol 9, 10
Nov 11 - 17 -------> vol 11 & 12.
We can change the pace if we feel we should read faster or lower. You just have to make the proposal.
Maybe a volume/chapter correlation should be posted in here too. That way people can always know what to read and when exactly. I know it's on batoto but I'd rather have a schedule in this thread too.
I will join the reading too, looking forward to discuss the series with all of you
Schedule is fine with and I agree with Koen, a volume/chapter correlation would be nice, just to be on the safe side.
Ey Naruto-niichan!!! So nice you join us. (I just saw you did)
I'll add the chapters volume correlation to be sure. I'm following Batoto's one:
If I'm not wrong the .5 chapters are omakes.Quote:

So, there we go...! Thread opened for comments on vol 1 and 2, chapters 1 to 12.5, according to Batoto's files.
