I could see Byoudouin (pretty sure he's 17 btw, not 18) getting an Inui like treatment. So if he loses, he'll stay in the camp to train more during the next expedition, and after that one we have another batch of ranking matches which gives us the actually strongest team.

I thought 3rd year as 12th grade, so I thought its 18. XD My mistake.
Not really. In most of this tournaments, it isn't the age what's important, but the year the person was born. Miyako is 18, for example.
Edit: Byoudouin was born in July 4... that makes him 18 too I guess.

Why do you guys keep saying that Yukimura will leave???
Because of this page.
why is ryoga teaching ryoma special moves? is it because he , ryoga intends to forfeit and then ryoma will face byouodin after tokugawa loses?
meaning using the final bosses' move against him, or to do an even rally with him.
Because according to him, Ryoma is his brother? I don't think there need to be a reason with family sharing things.
I think Konomi threw good writing out the window with this one. Here are the obvious flaws with what just happened:
*Konomi emphasizes Echizen, Kintarou, and Sanada (and Akutsu) more than anyone else.
*Konomi gives Sanada a cool new aura that is highly mysterious.
*Kintarou gets PoP and plays evenly with Oni, putting to use his development (Good)
*Sanada's black aura merely amounts to a pseudo-randomized shot, rather than a PoP competitor (Bad)
*Sanada and Akutsu get defeated 6-0, making all past emphasis and character development redundant, and making past writing patterns inconsistent. (Bad)
*Shuuji's amazing abilities are summarized by the nonsensical, "Look over there." (Terrible)
I mean seriously, that match was retarded. What the heck was he thinking.
As far as I know, BA was never hyped to be a PoP competitor. In fact, it was never even hyped to be a Muga competitor. It was given the same amount of treatment as the Wild Beast Aura.Quote:
Yeah, this is actually terrible. What makes it worse is that Akutsu isn't given any new techs. He isn't even shown to hit the quantum shots like Oni / Kintaro did in their match.Quote:
They weren't really summarized by that game. Shūji's talent was reasoned by a stupid ability to see what kind of shot his opponent hits and then "prepare his wrists" (does he have special wrists like Marui?) to absorb the shot, thus nullifying it. "Look Over There" was just one of his methods of pissing off the opponent, like hitting Sanada's water bottle to get under his skin.Quote:
Konomi doesn't care about Prince of Tennis GT.Quote:
I'm not gonna say that BA seemed to be a PoP competitor, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it was just another Wild Aura. I don't think Yukimura agrees with that either, lol.
I don't think there's much to add that hasn't been said before. Yes, BA was a major dissapoint, yes the result was terrible, and yes the way the match just ended was horrible.
I wouldn't say that Konomi doesn't care it's just... weird. If he didn't care he wouldn't had released so many data books and recently a fanbook. He's prolly just... not motivated enough, I dunno. Maybe the fact that this is kinda monthly is actually something bad for him. I'd like to know what's going on in his head and where NPOT is going
I think BA is only a disappointment for you if you hyped it up in your head for the past few years. It's not what I thought it would be, but it's not really any weaker than I expected. Like BNK said, it was never meant to be comparable to TnK and as a result just isn't.
As for the result of the match, I see no reason why Kintarou essentially gets beaten into oblivion by Oni and the same shouldn't happen to Sanada and Akutsu. They still managed to make a last stand like Kintarou did, but the reason why they didn't get a game is probably because Konomi didn't want to give Tanegashima an upgrade like he did with Oni, so it had to be an accident and something to build on in the future. I don't know what you're talking about with inconsistent writing patterns here, Fayte, because the MSers getting wrecked has been very consistent throughout the G10 matches.
Akutsu didn't get new techs because he's not someone who needs techs, his playstyle is centered around his super flexible body.
