Assassination Classroom and Ao no Exorcist are overrated IMHO, therefore I don't use them as comparison as I'm thinking to stop reading them, too. There's also Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru that I'm reading, but the story isn't as rich es either Toriko or One Piece, but still entertaining on its way.
There isn't more series I'm currently reading.
I have finally gotten my hands on this series. The first ingredient Toriko is going to catch is Galala Crocodile. Hmm.. sounds delicious..
The last time I came across this series was from episodes of One Piece. Pretty interesting, since Luffy loves to eat and eats a lot. Toriko definitely fits into the picture.
Personally I think this series is very unique and creative, with some sense of humour as well. I like the nonsensical comedy which makes me laugh. I guess I will read and watch more to know the series better.
Been my top manga since the beginning
Toriko is also my favorite manga. I started reading Toriko since chapter 87.
Dont know why but Toriko doesnt have that popularity among people in Japan.
Toriko is equal to One Piece in my opinion.
it is popular in japan
If it is not popular, the series wouldn't go on for so long. It is comparable with the popularity of those big 3 series.
Naruto and Bleach are nothing special, especially Bleach.
I dont like Bleach, pace is so slow and chapter are bad. Every 1 in 10 chapters are ok chapters.
Naruto also lost on popularity in my opinion.
There's also other good mangas, fairy tail, attack on titan, kenichi ect, and they are all better then these two above.
I enjoy most of the mangas mentioned in this chapter quite a bit, however the best comparison is with One Piece for what I would think would be obvious reasons. To compare Toriko to others like Assassination Classroom/Kenichi/Fairy Tail/my all time favorite Magi just seems like a matter of general preference (which I guess was the point of the thread I'm just going off of similar mangas though) since those mangas arent as similar to Toriko as One Piece is. What One Piece and Toriko have that other mangas don't have is virtually limitless potential in exploration, character design type, and abilities based on unconventional things. In other words the "physics" of these types of mangas are not as polished, but not in a bad way whatsoever because it makes them unique. It's somewhat hard to explain but that's the best I've got.
Oh and to answer this thread, Toriko is top quality in all ways. My ranking goes by Magi with an unbeatable lead followed by Toriko, then One Piece comes shortly after with Kingdom. Kenichi and Fairy Tail piss me off a lot but I still like them, and Bleach and Naruto are dead last for me (I wouldn't even read Bleach if it wasn't for Kenpachi). Plenty of other favorites but this thread is about Toriko...

I think Toriko is just a good manga on its own. I particularly like the imagination and creativity of the author. Sometimes even the way things or people are named make me smile. Another good thing about this manga is that it does not rely on "fan-service" to get popular. Thumbs-up for it!
