What are your reactions about the chapter?
I didn't expect they'd be home so soon, lol. I thought he'd go all emo on the journey home for an entire chapter out at sea. But good thing he's back for now. I teared up when his mom recognized him

This chapter was such a nice change of pace, coming back to Iceland. It's pretty funny that the scanlation came out so close to Christmas with all of the familial sentiment to it.
I wonder how long it'll stay in this setting though.
I really liked the Iceland setting initially, so it was nice to see it return one final time before they make the journey to Vinland. Comic relief and joyous reunion but also quite sad considering Thorfinn is heading out make a home in Vinland. Might be the last time he sees his mom/sister/nephews/nieces/childhood friends.
I think for the most part he already forgot about his family. Like, the entire time he never thought of them. He was too fixated on revenge against Askeladd, and then he just forgot about them. So that's why he also assumed his family would not remember him, and that's why he struggled to face his mom.
Well, I'm not sure how much the story will follow the actual Vinland Saga, so I don't make too many theories about where it might go :x
I recently got the Book 1 release and saw in early chapters that Faxi was Thorfinns best childhood friend. I wonder were he is now since the other guy said he wasn't Faxi...obviously not a crucial plot related question but it was fun and coincidental to have just read early chapters of Thorfinns childhood and for this chapter to havecome out at the same time, created an interesting contrast.
New chapter is on JJT forum and everywhere else where you could expect it.
I like the polka dots.
I'm really glad how this manga is flowing. Some other stories I read have no direction and stick with the same cast for too long. Am really excited for whatever's next. I miss the old crew now and that just adds too it, especially since I was getting sick of hardcore thorfinn's emotional state before farmland saga.
