So I've recently found myself immersed in poetry: both writing and reading. While I've barely begun to dig into the massive quantities of brilliant poets and poems that exist, a few I've stumbled across have really spoken to me in ways other types of literary authors cannot.
My current two favorite poets are both American: Walt Whitman and Allen Ginsburg. I find Whitman to have a sort of clarity that speaks to the inner workings of all men and women. "Song of Myself" is one of the most beautiful pieces of literature I've ever read. Ginsburg, on the other hand, presents a sort of madness that is both captivating and terrifying all at once. I would love to know what poets the members here enjoy reading and how these poets speak to each person in various ways.
There are many poets I'd like to mention as my favorite, but I'll choose to go with Pablo Neruda
