Tonari no Seki-kun
Starring: Hanazawa Kana and Shimono Hiro
The original manga revolves around a girl named Yokoi who sits next to a boy only known as Seki-kun. During class, Seki-kun continues to not pay attention and instead creates amazing little distractions, such as a detailed golf course with the course's hole being a dent in his desk, or an entire dramatic war being played out by paper shogi pieces. Yokoi often finds herself getting reluctantly interested in his games, even though they always seem to end up getting HER in trouble with the teacher!
Alright start. Wish we had heard seki speak but otherwise it did help to turn my frown somewhat upwards a bit. Ending to the episode was a bit lacking, but I did like how he quickly put them away.
Funny series, I already knew that it was like that. Within 7 minutes I laughed in many moments, I think it reached its goal. XD

What Seki-kun did in the second episode was less fantastic than the first one, but this time Yokoi put her imagination to work. Very good episode. I'm going to read the manga for sure.
This anime reminds me of Hetalia and Sakamoto desu ga, lol. Short but sweet and funny, with standard work on the graphic, making everything so simple yet easy and fun to enjoy. I laughed hard on the first episode because of how nonsense Seki-kun's game is, especially with the way he stacked those sharpeners. It was fun. I agree that the second episode was not as spectacular as the first one, but Yokoi's response was so funny, going as far as making him mad yet again. I have always liked Hanazawa Kana's voice, and after serious roles now she got one so funny and laid-back, and she did well. Wonderful job. I wonder if we'll get to hear Seki-kun talking too.
If the episode is this small, one episode per week is just too painful.
This show is a pure win; I love Yokoi's exaggerated reactions and I love Seki's ability in killing time during classess at school. LOL
I think that the lenght of each episode is perfect for a show like this, it makes you enjoy more the story, at least IMHO.
Looking forward to the next episodes.
I like episode 3! That perfect amount of ridiculousness from Seki-kun and that response Yokoi made are just good for each other. Despite how he looked like, he still remembered Yokoi and offered his service, LOL~ It's funny how he even tried to bribe Yokoi just to get something to do. Turns out he had a motive. That's cute and funny. XD
An OVA for Tonari no Seki-kun is out recently. I wonder why they made an OVA so early. The series is very short indeed so there is no need to wait for it to reach a certain point in plot. Though from my view the OVA takes many ideas which can be turned into episodes instead of OVA so soon, haha. And I noticed there will be 21 episodes, that's quite many. Is the manga that long already? Anyway, the OVA is so funny. I looove it. XDDD The cat episode is the best out of the two, although in the flag part Yokoi is such a winner. XD

Polish a table has never been so funny. XD
He is professional, I want to see him polish some tables of my school and college. He is very helpful, even offered the service to Yokoi. :P
The end of the episode really surprised me because I had an idea that Yokoi would let something drop in his table and spoil his polishment, but the static was well thought and really funny. XD
The manga has more than 40 chapters and I think each episode of the anime is one chapter of the manga, so it has material enough for two seasons. Thanks for the information about the OVA, I will watch as soon as possible.
This show is five minutes of Hana Kana talking, something we all can enjoy
Im finding each episode duller and duller. Polishing was a low but then this one with pieces and bears was a bit too low. I hope it picks up soon.
Gotta disagree here. That was the best Go-game I've ever seen.
How can someone be that creative?
Best use of Go pieces ever. XD
Seki-kun is an artist, there is no way to pay attention in the class with him next to you. In the end Yokoi is guilty. I wonder if Seki-kun do all this on purpose.
I strongly disagree that Tonani no Seki-kun is dull, it is the most original anime in my list, all episodes were very good.
