Magic is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales, but instead has become a technology of reality since a time unknown to people. Supernatural power became a technology systematized through magic, while magic became a technical skill. A "Supernatural Power User" became a "Magic Technician." Magic Technicians (in short, Magicians) are nurtured through Magic High Schools and Universities.

Definitely is one of the anime that Im looking most forward too. While reading the LN all last year I was like "anime when", its finally happening.
First episode screens did seem pretty fantastic but had already seen all the stuff from the massive amount of promo, pvs, 20 minutes video and etc.
That intro! Dat Mayumi wink!
It was really fast, they changed things a little but I find it was pretty good, events linked smoothly, action scenes are well animated as expected from MadHouse. I like what they are doing with Tatsuya, that's what I wanted. As a LN reader I think it will be really hard to disappoint me.
Yakumo is funnier than I thought he would, can't wait to hear more of the tracks.

Well that was a nice episode.
So apparently the specials were not needed. they explained most of it very well. One question though. in this world, magic is the ability to change the laws of physics right?
The characters are likable and I'm interested in the secret of the main character. Can he cancel the activation of magic? Or just read it?
But damn what a brother complex...
PS: We have a winner. I want that one.
Anyway, a pretty solid first episode. It pretty much covered almost everything, aside from exposition, that I read from the manga. I'm really excited for the things to come and I hope they do some more explaining as the series goes on. Although I won't get my hopes up considering there's a lot to be covered and the world is big.
At least, I remember from what I did read the explanations behind CADs, numbers, and reserves, but hopefully they'll expand on that later on--or I'll have to read over it again.
Pretty solid so far. Can't wait for the next ep. Miyuki and Tatsuya's relationship weirds me out a little bit but I also think it's cute. XD
Good episode although it wasn't that exciting except for the fight against Yakumo; it was more an introduction of the characters and the environment of the school, the rivarly between Weeds and Blooms. Things will get serious from now on.

As one who has no idea what LNs were about and did not watch the specials, I didn't feel like they jumped in too fast, so, it was smooth.
First episode was nothing special, nor felt like it was aiming to be one. This anime has Hayami Saori, though, so, whether I like the story or not won't matter, I will keep watching.
Well, well, well.....this anime is going to be an epic one indeed.
The MC is an irregular indeed, but maybe that's just me and his sister sure a brother complex. LOL
But since she's cute, I guess I can overlook that.
Anyway I'm already looking forward to watching the next episode.
Cliffhanger! So far so good, Tatsuya is portrayed perfectly(trolling, facial expressions, everything), the pace is good, I think Shizuku's voice is odd but that's probably because she didn't speak much. The ending reminded me of when I read the manga .
Dat Mayumi .
Wow in the episode we go from ultra slow Tatsuya to suprisingly agile Tatsuya, liked the way it shows that one can excel at one magic but be pretty poor at another. Also did they throw in a line there about Tatsuya being unable to be angered, those hints they are throwing.
^There was so much foreshadowing for a lot of things in the first volumes.
The only thing I don't like is that they are shortening Mayumis's interactions. But that's necessary I guess...
