Yuu Haruna just moved into town and love to be on twitter. Out on his way to buy dinner he bumps into a mysterious girl, Fuuka Akitsuki, who breaks his phone thinking he was trying to take a picture of her panties. How will his new life change now?
From the mangaka of Kimi no Iru Machi and Suzuka.
Nice thread^^ Now to ask the question: how did you feel when reading ch37?
I was pretty sad, since I don't really care about the childhood friend but I'm still pretty interested in how the series will develop from now on.
It was terrific. I saw her hit and thought. Yes, its gonna take a while in the hospital. I even forget that and thought all the time. Whats the problem. Was that a picture of fuuka on the coffin? Oh fuck she really is dead!
as mentioned in the thread before. Seo makes supernatural mangas but fuuka is a "squel" to suzuka and will probably stay a tragic love story. I can imagine the guy to write songs about his first love and that he needs time to overcome his sadness, using other woman in the meanwhile till he finds the one that helps him t get over it. Enough potential for more drama which is Seos speciality. He died so many backstabbing moves to his fans in Kimi Iru no Machi which I hated him frm but in the end it made the story unpredictable and interesting.
Didn't see this development coming, although it wasn't too far-fetched. I wonder if anything will happen with Tama-chan after this stuff. It'd be kinda meh if she just went out of the entire picture in a matter of couple of chapters, at least for me.
Though I think, as a character, I love Sara more.
It was a shocking chapter, I still can't believe he actually done it. or maybe he just trolling.
Is it possible if the series will have a Touch, Area no Kishi direction.
Everything started in the chapter 36, it was not believing since there. I saw Fuuka running and her friends and Haruna waiting for her... I wondered why she would be late for something so important because although Haruna said she is always late, it is not like her, at least for me. The scenes in this chapter was not parallel, Fuuka scene was in the past; when Haruna said that she was late, she already had suffered the accident.... Before I read chapter 37, I didn't believe that she could be dead, even though she was in the middle of a pool of blood in the end of the chapter 36... I thought she would struggle for her life for some time, while Haruna did everything he could to maintain the band, and only after that she would die or recover herself. When chapter 37 released it jumped right to the funeral, it was so sudden, I was not ready for something like that.... It was very sad, Fuuka became one of my favorite series lately, much because Fuuka... I thought more than I read the chapter, only after some time I thought about the course of the story.
Supernatural is discarded IMO, it will be a dramatic story from now on. Haruna didn't face the reality in that chapter, he didn't go in the funeral, not because he didn't like Fuuka and he didn't care about (obviously lol), it was because he didn't believe that his love was dead, he was still waiting for her.... Knowing him, I think he will stay this way for some time, he can even become a hikikomori. He is fragile, but he changed a lot, coming out of his shell because of Fuuka, he lost the base where his life was built. However, after some time, he will come back, with a great help of Tama-chan, and continue his career as musician for Fuuka. Tama-chan is a strong girl, she will support Haruna very well, her influence in his life will grow and a love can arise.
That's it so far, let's see what Seo Kouji will do. A death of a character like Fuuka is sad, but it is in such moments that my respect for the author increases, an author must have a incredible courage to do this, it is risk too much. I liked every Seo Kouji work I read and now my respect for him is on the roof.

The way her death was handled reminded me of
So, as I said, not outside Seo-sensei's style, but I think this was a bit too sudden and the character with the name of the manga dying this early looked more shattering than it normally would look.
To be honest, I didn't believe the main heroine in a manga could die that fast... Of all the manga I've read there was always a way to bring back the MC / heroine from the dead. For example in Gantz which is the one that comes to mind. Fuuka seems like a pretty 'normal' slice of life so I don't think it'll have supernatural elements. I have to say though ch36-37 were really well handled; I didn't like them but the way they were done was brilliant I think.

Seo Kouji tweeted that it is possibly the last Color Page of Fuuka (the character, not the series. XD)...
I don't know if he is serious or it is just merchandising, but it is getting interesting.

Chapter 38 is out!
I can see an increase in the number of Fujoishis reading this manga...
Talking serious now, it was a reflexive chapter, nothing really happened... I think it was to simbolize the gap that Fuuka left, without her the story doesn't move, her friends don't know what to do and etc., in short, it was to simbolize the state of confusion that took control of the lives of her friends...
They have to find out their next step, their way without Fuuka... I think the story will start to move again next chapter. Tama-chan has yet to appear, I think that she will be who will make the gears move again.
Dude! It is the first work of this author I'm reading, I don't really like romances because shoujos like pastel and ichigo 100 really bores me.... I read Akame ga Kill, Shingekli no Kyojin, I am used to seeing deaths in mangas, BUT I was not expecting this!!! I just read it and I felt like crying! That was just too unexpected to me!
It's been almost a year I don't post anything in mangahelpers, but I had to say spmething.... I'll continue reading Fuuka even with a broken heart...
Guess its time for him to start writing songs and meeting new girls so the story can evolve. Otherwise which else direction could seo take?

Chapter 39 is out
He finally expressed his feelings, I think that the penny finally dropped, Fuuka is nowhere in this world... I don't know what he will do from now on, let' see.
While Yuu is trying to overcome the loss, the owner of his bass appeared... I don't know what will be his role as well.
So many questions and no answers! XD

It was a hell of a chapter... In the beginning, when Yuu was thinking about what he could have done to prevent Fuuka's death, I relly felt sadness, it is not something that happens often with me, I'm really involved in this manga...
I was thinking exactly what Nico said to Yuu that he couldn't turn that despear in music... I think that Yuu is going to do exactly this from now on, in Fuuka's honor, he will continue play and make success. In the end, what made Yuu come out of his horrible state was Fuuka herself... I said before I thought that someone would replace Fuuka after some time, but I think it will not happen... She is and will continue being his biggest influence.

Unintentionally, Fuuka saved her boyfriend life with that message... She doesn't use phones normally, but she went out of her way to do so, it was a play of the destiny... Fuuka maybe dead physically speaking, but she is alive in Yuu's heart and soon enough and her friends hearts when they know about what Yuu intends to do. Her dreams will never die! Looking forward to reading the next chapters!
Thread was so quiet.
Anyway, I don't like the direction it going. look like it will turn to completely music manga. I want to read romance manga.
It continue a romance, the purest I might say, there isn't a bigger love than that Yuu is demonstrated. He could forget Fuuka and live on, but he is willing to pursuit her dream for her until the very end, never forgetting her. It doesn't exclude a new romance though, he can find another person during the series that will make him happy, we have to wait and see what will happen.
For now, the intetion of author seems to be focusing in the music part of the manga and the pursuit of his dream. Who knows the author had this intention since the beginning? A musical manga where the romance in the beginning only served as a base?
Anyway, Seo Kouji series is normally very hard to predict. XD
However, I still think that Tama-chan will appear and a new love can come up from it, it would fit my first option.

Yuu is really fired up, he can reunite the gang and make a brand new band for the sake of Fuuka's dream. I didn't expect that Sara would refure the invitation, it is clear that she is trying to adapt to her new band, but she is not happy, something is lacking, it is clear in her expression... I think she will accept in the end, but there is the possibility of not accepting and in this case Sara and the others will be rivals as bands.
Bands everywhere, many bands are being created.
