Same ES21 characters are based on other mangas characters and on historical figures, for example:
Shin Seijuurou is based on Kenshiro from Hokuto no Ken and on the legendary martial artist Bruce Lee, this information is for sure because the mangaka himself said it.
Sasaki Kotarou and Takekura Gen(Musashi) are both based on the most famous rival samurais from japanese history: Sasaki Kojiro and Myamoto Musahi(you can check on them on Wikipedia).
Tetsuma Jou is based on the legendary Golgo 13, Duke Tougou, a man without feelings who follow every order no mather which order it is (pretty much like Tetsuma), not to mention the faces resemblanses.
Hosokawa Ikkyu resembles the Sayan Prince, Vegita from Dragon Ball manga from Akira Toryama. The hair, the height and the phisical appearance all look like Vegita not to mention the most important thing to Ikkyu and Vegita, which is their pride, Ikkyu´s pride on being the best aerial fighter and Vegita´s pride on being the Sayajin no Ouji.
Can you guys think of any other resemblenses like those ones??
P.S. Please don´t say from characters of Naruto or Bleach, it must be characters from old mangas and animes, the mangaka would never based a character in a manga from his generation, that would be stupid.

My dad grew up in the golden age of manga; you know, that period from the 60s to 70s. Anyway, he first started talking about Kyojin no Hoshi so I looked it up. The artist drew a manga called Football Hawk. Could someone look to see if this Hawk looks like Taka?

It's a chestnut, though ("Kuri" of Kurita means chestnut >.>)
Ken Kamaguruma (Taiyou Sphinxs): Jean Pierre Polnareff of JoJo Bizarre Adventure. His Stand: Silver Chariot.
Although maybe far-fetched but....
Shien "Kid" Mushakononji (Seibu Wild Gunmen): Lucky Luke, the fastest quickdrawer (which is so fast he can defeat his own shadow ;^_^)
Very interesting, RBomber!
