Bloody Monday is a manga about a teenage hacker working for the PSIA (a Japanese version of the CIA), who gets himself involved into a very dangerous case. A virus has wiped out a town in Russia on christmas eve and he's the one to discover this secret. Therefor, he suddenly made himself a lot of enemies, involving his family and friends. On top of that, there seems to be a spy within the PSIA ranks. What happened in Russia exactly and how deep is Japan involved?
This manga has very pretty artwork, interesting characters and a thrilling main plot. It's a little ecchi (the current villain should have at least d-cup >.>) and contains a good amount of gore, violence and merciless killed people but also comedy. The main character and the hacker topic, though, is pretty cliche. He's your "more or less average school boy caught in something not normal" and acts partly very... ehrrrm... naive. It really contradicts with the cruel and bloody murders in this manga. Also, the hacking skills aren't anything you haven't seen in several movies before but I find his superhero-like hacker pose very funny
I've only read the first few scanlated chapters out of 6 volumes ongoing so far, so I hope the lacking parts will change for the better. It has potential, imho. But you shouldn't expect a too deep story behind this. Still, it's a very nice read for in between
Also, a J-Drama based on this manga will be airing on October 11, 2008.

Good manga... I liked it but nobody has taken up on the project since S^3 & Gievmoar's demise. Such a shame ;_;
Maybe the lack of public raw hasn't helped this manga either... at least we would see some scans running around by one-man teams or something.
Yes, it's sadly been a while since the last release but I thought a discussion thread may raises some interest. Plus, they totally left us with a cliffhanger ;__;
This manga is certainly not outstanding (so far) but still a good one which is worth to pick up. Weekly Shounen Magazine also is not a magazine too far off from being scanned as it contain several active scanlated series. But well, we will see ._.
I wouldn't mind buying the raw and scanalating them if we only had a translator.
That would be great!
Well, let's try this for now:
Yes lets try that.
I've got raws was thinking of picking this one up but I dont have a full time translator or a great love for the series. If you want to work on this pm me and I may share the raws if I know they wont get any low or even medium quality treatment.
A v2 of ch 7 will come out later, I totally missed the missing text on one of the pages. I will PM the translator for the tl of it so we can release a v2.
Fixed, please redownload the chapter :x
Chapter 8 is now released too!

Thank you... and, gaaah... cliffhanger. I'm so excited about the next chapter already
woah i read this manga a few months ago..
but somehow since there's no latest scanlation for a few months i think..
that i totally forgot bout it until i suddenly saw the title in the recent updates list on onemanga
so now i'm going to reread it again
my thanx goes to the translator and scanlator
The life action tv series started airing.
I doubt that there's enough interest to create an own thread for it, so I'll just post the screenshots here for those who want to take a look:
The first episode runs 95 minutes. It covers more than the scanlated chapters contain but it also differs a lot, particularly in details (e.g. the laptop falls into water and doesn't explode in the microwave). All happenings and the main plot are basically the same with some variants. Takagi's friends aren't involved at all so far and the kidnapping of his sister develops very differently from the current chapters. I don't know how accurate the following terrorist attack is to the cannon story, so be aware that the later pictures could contain manga spoiler.
Not much gore and typical TV acting, but enjoyable. I like the Hacker scenes. They let a falcon symbolically fly through a building overlapped with computer terminals and techno-like background sound, pretty cool >D
