Awww... you have to bring up Itazura na Kiss???
It still pains me to remember the passing of the author...
Glass no Kamen is a fine work, but both Miya and Ayumi's personality really makes me want to pull my hair out... Though I love it whenever Tsukikage appears
I'm still following Glass no Kamen (because I buy the magazine it's in, Bessatsu Hana to Yume), but just no burning passion for the series
Can't say i'm as experienced or as well read as you super manga freaks out there (a little jealous though) i choose other. Tenjo Tenge is an awesome manga, it just has the best of what i like. plus thats the manga that got me into manga. i had no idea that some anime came from manga or that some manga keep going after the anime ends (cept for bleach, naruto etc. etc.) it was a revelation and i am forever greateful. Oh!Great is the man!
Although One Piece is amazing, Dragonball really introduced me into a world I had never been to, I was so fascinated the first time i read it and thanks to HAO Scanlators, I am reliving that dream and fantasy over again.
As for favorite... it's hard for me to name just one or two, since I pretty much loves those I read and followed Good thing I didn't handle my relationships this way!
I personally would only rate a manga "the greatest" by how it'd impact myself and changed people... Like I said, a lot of manga are decent, but great and greatest are two different things
I voted for monster.
Indeed I would rank D.Gray MAN for no.1 but its kinda annoying with its on and off hitaus .
Consideing the story, monster is awesome.
One piece is good which I feel happy when reading it, but I can wait for couple months and read every 20 chapters at once. Unlike DGM that I wanna read ASAP.
There's some pretty good selections from this poll, and many more that aren't included in it. Series such as Soul Eater, Fullmetal Alchemist, Monster, etc. are excellent. Still, I still feel Berserk deserves the gold medal for its fantastic art, fantastic plot, and fantastic action. The only complaint I have with the series is the mangaka's tendency to frequently take loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong hiatuses.
I don`t get why theres one piece on here, but no naruto and bleach. Anyway I got a couple good ones.
1)soul eater, but I like the anime more than the manga and it sucks waiting a month for a chapter.
2)claymore, very good manga, but once again one month for a chapter sucks.
3)liar game, I just love this one, but it`s getting kind of crappy these past chapters.
4)D-gray man I love this one too, with it`s gothic art style and pretty cool story, only problem is the hiatuses.
That`s what I think about that and it`s funny that I don`t read the 2 best vote getters berserk and one piece, better start now.
For me its also Nausicaä of the valley of wind, since its a Masterpiece, but I would add Gantz to that List.
Guys, I don't really think some of the "pop" manga that are mentioned in the past posts is really at the "greatest" level (yet)... I mean a lot of series you guys mentioned are good and decent, but "greatest"?
It's like when talking about the greatest singer, it's unlikely for people to actually pick Britney Spears. Not because she's a bad singer, but rather she's not "there" yet in terms of actually achieved greatness and impacted both the industry as well as people's lives.
which is why i haven't mentioned Ice Revolution yet
Bakuman. And its barely starting too.
