Re: Sidonia no Kishi by Nihei Tsutomu

Chapter 13 came out a few days ago, available on Illuminati's IRC channel.

Seeing actual human emotion and interactions in a Nihei manga is still jarring. I'm still used to the stoic, possibly cyborg loners of his early manga. Never the less it is a little refreshing to read chapters like this, where jealousy and love play something of a role. Not the most exciting chapters but more Sidonia is always welcome and the art remains as delightful as ever.

I like the art, it may not be as angular as his past work but everything that made Blame, Biomega, etc great is still there. The only difference is a softer, more organic style. The art reminds me of the second half of Biomega.

I bought the first volume of this series published in English by Vertical Inc. I hope it gets better because the first volume didn't do much for me. I was thoroughly impressed by 'Biomega', so I do have some faith in Nihei's abilities. I have up to volume 3 preordered. Hopefully that is enough to get hooked.

Bad News for all the Fans and Followers of the Series. In an upcoming Sepcial Edition of Monthly Shonen Sirius-Magazin, Tsutomu eill announce that the Series reached his climactic scene. That will be near the Ending of the Series. And that is pretty bad. I followed the Series from the first chapter and loved the drawiing coming out of his Hands.

It´s different as usual, it´s special and is one in a kind in a Way. The Story was much longer as former works from him.
So it´s pretty sad for me to hear the Story will come to an end in the near time. My biggest hope Tsutomu Nihei will come up with another interisting Story and aweseome atmosphere and Area Drawing.

Sidonia no Kishi looks like Biomega. Abbara and Blame looks complete different from the other Series. But that belongs in the Developing of drawing and new focus on different Area.
Biomega and Sidonia no Kishi open teh Door form great land and background drawings. Also he drawed nice an great Mobile Suites. But in the Drawing of Blame and Abbara in was more Personal and Emotion drawing, in my Mind. So he draw in four Series two different Styles. Bith was important for each Serious. You cant draw to much emotions into People, when 8ß%-90& are clones, robots and Aliens.

When you have the Option about the huge Ship the living in. To place an See in it with an Restaurant on it. Deep Water guide Tour, Industrial and and and, to create amthomosphere and Moments in Drawings you work with it. In my Opinon its showes the developent. From pure dark emotion to moments of atmosphere.
That what makes in my Mind some of the drawings in Sidonia no Kishi more in Art then simple Land drawing.

And i hope when this series Ends, he start another Series in include both kind of drawing in one series. When someone can do it then him.
