Actually, no. The stats are percentages of what a captain has achieved based on his or her individual potential. For instance, at the time of Aizen's betrayal (supposedly when this data was acquired), Soi Fon had reached her own potential in Attack Power and Mobility but still has room to grow in her other fields. This does not mean, however, that her potential is the same as Yama's potential. 100% of 50 is not the same as 100% of 5000 (I'm exaggerating, of course).Quote:
This is why I don't really rely on these stats when comparing captains. I prefer to read the descriptions of each characters' specialties and make my assumptions based on that. Or use what I already know about the captains to provide a basis for the stats so that I can compare them within the same captain. i.e. "Unohana's the best healer and one of the wisest captains we have so it makes sense that she would have among the best kido/wisdom...what's this? Her Attack Power is just as strong? HOLY SH*T!!! "
Razh, Gecko, what I meant was this:
Total potential is the 100% mark in his stats right? Which means 100% is the highest he can ever go. Which is his potential.
If Hitsu really had miles to go in development, then his potential could be as low as 20% or 5% (arbitrary values). See, even if he was only at 5% of his potential, if he is strong enough to defeat Halibel then it wouldn't be hard to imagine that in a century he'd be beastly. But he's at 80%. He's four-fifths as strong/fast/whatever as he can ever be.
I think you guys are saying that the 100% mark/limit can change, so that their potential can change too. What I think is that the 100% mark is the absolute (unless like the vizards/arrancar you increase that mark unnaturally), and the "stats" show you how close you are to reaching that limit.
For example, Hitsu has 800 out of 1000 for one of his stats. 80% right? You might say that the 1000 total he can grow to might change to 1500 or 2000. What I'm saying is that the 1000 can't, that it's the absolute limit he can go to. That's the definition of "potential", isn't it?
I think that 100% displays his current potential which doesn't mean that his potential can't grow.
If he were to stop training for about 100 years, I think those 80's would become 40-50.
okay i'm confused. cuz i have my SOULS book right here and i can't find any of those pages on the first page. i meen i can find some that are mostly like that but they dont have those little chart thingys. =( what happened?

seems pretty incomplete to me...
He admits it himself here. If that's not irrefutable then I don't know what is.
So basically Shunsui is better in battle than Unohano, but in other areas Unohano has him bested. Seems to me like that's what the OP indicates.
Hitsugaya fans grow up, his powers are imcomplete, hes just a kid ffs
maybe in future he ll get overpowered.. good for him
Till then its more than states he have his powers imature.
It can be used to gauge the abilities of characters we have yet too see go all out.
Lets take Hitsugaya. Given he has the same Kidou stat as Byakuya, we can gauge his Kidou capability by basing it on what we've seen Byakuya do. This is how the anime team used it. And as a result in the anime we see Hitsugaya using Sajou Sabaku

I think the idea that was mentioned that people seem to have a hard time accepting is you can not compare Bleach stats like power levels to other captains as they only measure that persons capacity.
The best way at looking at it is use an RPG analogy and say we take Strength/ fitness Stat of two characters and it equals 100.
- In Rpg terms this would be like a Paladin and a Black mage who have both reached level 99 the limit of their growth.
- However the Paladin Hit points at Lv99 may equal say 3000 Hp
- The Black Mage Hit points at Lv99 may equal 1600 Hp
- Their Hit points are the Bleach equivalent of the Strength/ fitness Stat and you see how the limit of each equates to a different capacity for each.
If you compared their Magic points this too would be different as each has their own capacity and the 100 mark so to speak is unique to each.
Hope this adds some clarity
Does the offense stat mean physical strength or overall offensive ability?
I thought there was a separate stat that says physical strength, not offensive capability.
