haha, sigh, great BURST my bubble =P.
Well, I'm actually not much of a tsubasa hater... and actually do like the slightly more realism here in terms of the defence actually doing something. But I would like to see tsubasa fall a bit harder than a 3 match bump in the road...
hxh is a nice manga =], too bad i stopped reading it... cuz the drawings got worst... but i can't blame the author cuz he had arthritis or something like that.
The defense has always been a weak part of CT due to superhuman offense though.

Don't think so, it's not always weak, it just depends on the players, the team, and their level.
In this match for example, even if the defensers are beaten, they are doing things. That's the difference between the best defenders in the world and the others who are easily beaten.
Gonzales blocking the Twin Shoot was easily superhuman.
I meant the previous arcs, this one has changed a lot.
Even the previous arcs had some teams or players with good or superhuman defense.
It's just a matter of team, player style, and their level.
ok what I really meant was that more emphasis is put on the offense rather than the defense.
If there is emphasis, in my opinion it's just on the impressive plays. Offense or defense doesn't matter.
It's not like Wakabayashi's god-like saves were ignored throughout the manga, for example.
Not really about the keepers, but the defenders.
That was just an example
There was much emphasis on Misugi, Soda, Jito and Matsuyama for all of their defensive moves in the first two arcs.
Same in the 3rd with the italians, Galban, Pierre, Kaltz...
Then in World Youth, Bunnark, Owairan, Brolin...
