I don’t know if this is the right place to post this, so I apologize to the mods in advance.
What was your first anime?
My first anime was Mitsubachi Maya no Bouken. I used to watch it when I was a little girl, around two years old. And according to my mom, I used to enjoy watching Maya so much that I would watch the same episodes over and over again without a problem. In fact, my mom had to tape me some of the episodes because I would cry once the episode ended and would say, “Ah Maya, Ah Willi, no more, no more.”
So Maya The Honey Bee was my first anime, what about you guys? Which one was your first anime?

Dragonball. I remember tunning this local channel of my country and discovering a little monkey boy that wasn't ashamed of practically anything. Then the adventures started, the boy grew, the characters accomplished their mission and the series ended. Only to return with Dragonball Z...lol!
By that time I didn't even know what an Anime was (or even less a Manga). I remember that this was the show of the time. Even when DBZ finished, I kept watching it and watching it (pretty much until the channel stopped broadcasting it). Then I got cable TV, after a year Digimon came to FoxKids, Sakura Card Captors to cartoon network and hey! don't forget about Pokemon!
EDIT: I'm a little confused now, I actually think it was Zodiac Knights (Saint Seiya), but I'm not sure! Lol. From the show I remember the song pretty well, and LOVED the golden armors.

My first anime was Akira in the dorms at UMBC in the late '90's.
Dragon Ball Z.
song by heart, in fact I still know it. ^_^ XD
I watched Pokemon until Misty’s departure; I didn’t watch any episodes after that. And yes, Misty is my fav Pokemon girl.
, I don’t remember the opening song though.
This is so embarrassing . . .
You can call me Aki - Akiyama

-Soul Sorcerer- mention Cardcaptor Sakura, that was a great anime, brings back childhood memories, all 70 episodes were pure gold, makes me want to watch it over again and read the original manga. She has to be the greatest protagonist on roller skates of all time.
only correct answer is Dragon Ball Z
So was Akira an incorrect answer or was I given bad advice? I had to choose between that or Ranma, a big deal with people who watched fansubs (VHS not internet) back then. Considering Akira is still epic I think I made the right decision.
I still haven't watched DBZ

About the Shojo thing... by that time what the hell did I know about Shojo/Shonen/seinen stuff? CCSakura was crazy good, and some scenes were just Shonen-like (Bikinis, figths). Plus the whole concept of the series and the AWESOME animation of the cards (once they are released) made the show badass.
Some shojos I also watched: Kaleido Star...man, that show made me love Circuses. I also watched some episodes of a certain rip-off of Sakura series, I remember it had to do with computer viruses and stuff.
I also watched: Digimon (all 4 seasons), Shaman King (lol XD), Monster Ranger, The Highway ('La autopista' in spanish), Samurai X (Rouroni Kenshin), Medabots, Ranma 1/2, Yu-Gi-Oh and probably more I can't remember.
Also, the only reason I didn't watch Sailor Moon is because it was SOOO early...lol XD (like 6 o clock in a Saturday).
I was a pretty much an anime fankid. It's kind of funny I only read manga now, pretty much because of fillers.
EDIT1: Can you believe that I watched all those (except for the Digimon seasons) in one year? It's almost impossible now, back then the channels used to get the whole series, so they never had to air the same episode/season more than once.
It's also because there were like 3 channels with 'Anime Time'.
EDIT2: I never knew what Akira was o_o. It looks pretty cult/dark now that I'm reading it's plot in wikipedia.
