Cuz they were in the way. By that point the 3 arguably strongest singles players had been eliminated, so it's fair to assume that nobody present besides Inui and Renji could do anything. If anything the others would've messed up the pair's data tennis, gotten in the way of their shots, or even been targeted by the high schoolers once it was clear that Inui and Renji were the only ones who knew how to play on that court. Not to mention the fact that telling others to "step aside/stay back" is a "cool" thing to say in manga (especially shonen manga).
As for your second point about losing to the high schoolers, it looks like they lost cuz they ran out of time, not people. Having any more players on the court wouldn't have helped any.

It's the number of people that count in the end. That's what i mean. They have 2 people cuz every other midde schoolers walk out while their opponent have 3.
Still...the people that was eiliminated was in a way fitting - can you see people like Jirou and Fuji being in that group?
It's been a while since I have made an awesome prediction, so just to impress you guys, I'll make one now:
Akutsu will play Chitose next chapter. I'm 94% sure of that.
I doubt that!
mainly because Konomi already said that we'll be focusing on the Losers for awhile and starting next month the winners side will have a "report" in Pair Puri. So you can see what both sides are doing at the same time.
He said that?
...Right. Didn't know that. Time to fix my amazing prediction:
Hiyoshi will make a new technique, based off ghosts.
Also, Niou will mind rape someone.
...And we'll find out in the next pair puri that Chitose and Akutsu really DID have a match!
Question though, do the winners know that the losers aren't out yet?
Nope, the winners have no clue about the losers.
TI shoudl be interesting when the big reveal happens.
The pair puri will be listing the shuffle match results I believe. should be interesting XD
I'm glad that the manga will be focusing on the losers for awhile. Most of my favorites are in that group. Although I would like to see more of what's going on at the U-17 camp, too.
Hopefully Momoshiro will be healed up soon, and he can begin improving himself for a rematch with Oni.
Wait, what was your original prediction Sherlock?
My own prediction is that we'll have a few more months of psycho training, get some sort of time skip or something (like a month or something I'd say) and then a rematch between the winners and losers. Afterwards, some actual focus on playing the high schoolers and the characters going up in ranks in the shuffle matches.
I wonder how the rematches are going to be played out, if they happen.
I can see some different results, like Niou beating Yagyuu and Sanada beating Yukimura, being Richard and Kadowaki need a few thousand years to stand a chance vs their opponents.
Well I have a thought that the losers will be getting a second chance to join the camp and will be put up against the winners or something. The losers who are still defeated will end up being legitimately kicked out of the camp. That will help to get rid of useless characters like Kadowaki, Richard, Yuuta and Gakuto.
Do you think they are going to play vs the same people they lost before?
I mean, if that's the case, then Kaidoh and Hiyoshi got no chance, despite being quite good.
