I think the animation looks pretty normal. Nothing phenomenal or exceptionally good, but this isn't Sunrise or Bones or one of the other bigger studios so that's unavoidable I suppose. And like someone already said, it isn't an action anime.
But I must gripe about the voices... I don't think the seiyuu match @___@ Or at least, they don't match my mental image of how the characters were going to sound... Am I the only one who feels that way?
I'm pretty sure the first episode itself is going to look a lot better. And the voices will be in synch too . JC Staff don't usually disappoint. They're a pretty great studio actually.
It does not matter if this is an action manga or not.K-ON! for example is not an action manga, but has great animation(it's from a different studio though...)
Anyway,we will see how the animation will be,but what i'm disappointed in are the dull colors.
the main reason why i am disappointed is the "WHAO!" "WHAO!" scene, not only is teh quality horrible compared to the original magna picture, but also ironically the mouth movement looks soooo wrong, i can't descripe it in words.
I just hope the other reaction scenes will be better
I just saw the first episode, and I were horribly dissapointed. And first episode should be the impressing one.
It looked quite cheap, nothing special. Few character designs butchered a little bit. Voice's were allright. I initially thought that starting with Heroman (or whatever) opening was a fun idea, but then they played the actual opening almost immediatly after. Which was horribly dull and clichee. Watching the same moon from different places, being back to back on a windy field and then turning and suddenly being face to face in a sunset. Blaah.
And ending was again just running with like 3 frames looped. Duh.
There wasn't really anything which makes me want to keep watching this adaptation.
I was really impressed with the first episode. The atmosphere, the pace, the music and the voices were all top notch. The animation seemed low budget, but it wasn't too bad and the colour pallet was nice.
Where can i watch the first episode?
So far so good, I liked how they animated the manga Mashiro was reading *I can't remmeber what manga it was.. Though it would have been better if he was watching the anime instead of reading the manga, I mean how can the manga have an opening?
Anyway what I have liked the most is that they used the U.S. Viz mangas in the anime!! When Takagi is explaining how manga is liked world-wide.

I approached it with low exceptations,so what can i say....I loved it!I thought this anime would be crap, but it was great. The voices were fitting, the atmosphere was right and even the animation was more then acceptable!I hope the next episodes will get the same treatment!
There's new thread for discussing Bakuman's anime here.
Thanks! I was just going to announce it here, but you beat me to it. ~igotthegoods
