Awesome! Bakuman's getting an anime, though I can't say I'm surprised. 25 episodes seems too little for it though. The team in charge of it did Honey & Clover and Nodame Cantabile right? Didn't those anime get more than one season? I know the latter did, which could mean Bakuman may get one as well.
And as for the channel its airing on, NHK's educational channel? I know the series has taught me a lot about the manga world and how it works, but it still feels odd knowing that it'll be airing in an educational channel.
Maybe it'll be an anime version of Art Attack. Teaching kids how to draw. -kidding-
wish they'd give bones animation studio some shot for bakuman.
JC Staff is a pretty good studio though. There's no reason for BONES to do the animation seeing as this isn't an action series. That doesn't mean I would have liked to see them adapt this series though.
J.C staff can produce some good anime with the right director. We have Kasai here, the best director from J.C staff. Well known for directing Honey and Clover and Nodame Cantabile. They're also quite good on the animation side. I hope Tatsuyuki Nagai would direct an episode or two for the romance episode, I loved what he has done with Toradora.
ANN listed Noriaki Akitaya as the other director, but ANN isn't an official source. Most likely it would be correct. He worked as episode director for Code Geass and Shana, he also did the first episode for both of these shows. Code Geass episode 1 was a pretty good first episode, Shana first episode actually gave me the creeps in a good way. So right now I'm quite happy with the people working on it.
Although BONES with Ouran/Soul Eater's team would be pretty interesting too.
I kinda hoped that Mad House would handle this since they did a good job with DN
Madhouse would be a great choice if they used the same animation team they used on the "Run, Melos!" storyline in Aoi Bungaku.
Very good,i like to see the colours.I prefer manga but when im catched up with chapters ill watch anime surely (bakuman can end soon though()
i hope Eclipse fansubs picks up the series for us to watch online.
For the authors that made Death Note, there'll be tons of groups picking this up when it airs... Course we got like 9 months till then.
This is airing on NHK educational channel, so I doubt there'll be a legal streaming option. Bakuman probably would get over subbed, it doesn't look like the hardest thing to translate. It's going to be one of the more hyped shows I would think.
Actually it's quite the opposite, it's one of the HARDEST things to translate.
It has tons of talking and very little action or... things that don't have talking. It's a slice of life manga. And the talking isn't about what's on screen it's about lots of different subjects, characters talking about what they think is going to happens and their opinions on things and it gets very non-literal.
Still though, it's likely to get a couple big groups.
I'm not sure whether this is real or not, but there is announcement for Bakuman's cast. So, I'll upload just in case if it is real (I'm sorry if this one is fake).
