It's been to long since I watched any anime and am trying to catch up on some recent shows I missed. I started Magica and Anohana yesterday. I'm watching Blu-Ray rips of both series, neither of which are complete on BD, so it may take a few months to catch up. Once I've watched all the released episodes.
Most importantly: Just finished watching Redline. Easily the most original anime I have seen since Paprika and Tekkonkinkreet, there is absolutely nothing like it. I could not recommend this movie any more. Be aware that this is an R rated movie and does contain some adult material.
Watching Code Geass R2 right now. The first season was absolutely stunning, I can't wait to see how everything turns out
@Kaiten I doom you heartless if you don't shed a
lot offew tears in the last episode of AnoHana
Good, I love a sad story. Not that I would ever admit to crying
After three episodes I am really enjoying Ano Hano, it really does live up to it's reputation.
Glad to hear that! The last ep will make you admit to crying
Finished Code Geass 2, not as great as the first season but still very enjoyable and with a sad and satisfying ending
Lelouch really lives up to all the hype around him, his character was fascinating and tragic at the same time.
Now I wonder what the planned third season will be about, especially seeing how the second season ended.
just watched The Sacred Blacksmith Anime. The first part has a lot of breast comedy, but it is actually quite a good anime, and becomes a really good emotional story and with an interesting plot as well. Too bad there's no second season yet of it, as-though the manga is on-going.
Lately, I have been watching mindless anime such as Beelzebub andBlue Exorcist. I do not care for Oga's voice though. (Oga: the main character in Beelzebub.)
Watched Eve no Jikan(Movie) and it really deserves the high ranking. The whole "have robots a heart?" question is nothing new but it was very well executed and I hope there will be a continuation.
Now I might watch Summer Wars or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan next, as I heard both are great.
I don't know about Summer Wars but Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan is really good. It has a bit of an over the top style to it but there is a lot of rich emotional content in it. Not to mention it has a great soundtrack.
It also becomes a good bit more epic than you might expect.
You might like Summer Wars if you like Digimon.
I watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) yesterday. It's a shojo anime/film. (I saw it a few years ago for the first time.) It's a little sad but heart warming sweet story.
This summer, I watched Naruto Blood Prison, which was terrible, and Kokuriko no Saka by Studio Ghibli which was quite nice.
Just finished One Outs, my first anime that's gotta do something with sports. But its not any plain sports anime. Well what else would ya expect from the guy who writes Liar Game. Enjoyed it a lot.
If anyone is interested in sports (or another sports) anime, I'd recommend:
IGPX Immortal Grand Prix
it's both really enjoyable with the racing and outside of the racing too! some really good story-telling/drama, and the races are cool too. Even if mecha racing isn't your thing, I think everyone will find themselves liking this anime!
The animation for Mononoke
and Sakurai-kuncaught my attention: it's pretty avant-garde and colorful without being an eyesore. The characters have a cartoon, caricature look to them.
Yeah, my to-watch list just keeps on growing.
-Index and Railgun
-Madoka Magica(I don't think I have to say anything ;p)
-Gurren Laggan(very awesome).
Planning to watch:
-Code Geass, it's long overdue
-Ano Hana(because I'm very interested after seeing so many mentioning it and the characters look interesting)
-Clannad(slice-of-life with very good comedy IMO)
-Ika Musume(saw the first episode already)
-Ookami-san (because of Narrator Kuroko ;p)
-X and Noir(still haven't watched them)
-Now that I'm reading it, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars are on my list as well
Oh, and Fairy Tail deserves a special mention, because the anime adds so much to the already known scenes.(I have to catch up on that, too...)
The list just keeps on growing.....
Edit: I almost forgot, Dennou Coil is an excellent anime I recommend watching, one of my absolute favorites.
