I know, I have profited mightily from your suffering Bomber. It's hard for me to even imagine how hard it must be to translate Gintama since the whole thing is just a mass of bizarre, and to me hilarious, puns. The fact that you haven't gone insane converting all those to English(yet) is quite an accomplishment.
Gintama has a very special place in my heart because the series itself shouldn't work...but it does.
It goes against almost every convention of storytelling. It doesn't try to disguise narrative inconsistencies, it points them out; like the Kagura and the sunlight or Otae rebuilding the dojo. It breaks the forth wall all the time. It mixes whatever elements it feels like from Dragon Ball to Star Wars and everything in between; without being too concerned about if it makes any sense. A series like this shouldn't be able to emotionally resonate, but Gintama does it with me in a way few things do.
I'm can't honestly say I understand why succeeds so well with me, because even I really don't get it. How a series that can do a self conscious arc on character popularity polls and also a soul crushing arc like the one with Okita Mitsuba; and succeed spectacularly with both? It's just beyond the scope of my understanding. But for some reason that just makes me love it all the more.

The subbed movie was released today guys, you should definitely watch it!
It might be a long read, but thankfully that was worth my time. Thanks a lot for your effort, Bomber. Considering that this manga has been running for one decade, it still amazes me that my interest on Gintama has yet to falter. When I get bored on a particular manga, somehow picking a random chapter of Gintama would cheers me up. Its ability to have an absurd plot yet refreshing simultaneously is what makes me attached.
Going to watch the movie now.
I don't know about anybody else, but I loved it!
I think I'm back to being a mild GinXOtae shipper too. I know that Gintama isn't really THAT kind of series but I always like to keep a pairing preference(Tskuyo was in the lead before) and this movie really sold that one nicely.

Will give my thoughts there, but I thought it was pretty damn good too
Am I mistaken or is this the first time we see an easy-going Takasugi? Even if it's just a recollection, that's pretty cool. And I always knew Mutsu was an especially awesome one!
Man, another awesome arc!
I love it when we have flashback from the Joui war, and now we will finally get some info on Mutsu!
Gintama does not get enough love, has to be said. I am looking forward how Mutsu responds to the return of her former crew.
This chapter (one before last of Mutsu arc) is awesome. And I also didn't see this twist coming. The previous one (the shitty one) was the worst in Gintama history but this one is one of the better ones. With that we have a background for all important characters and Sorachi can go along with the main story.
BTW, Mutsu x Sakamoto is my third favourite pairing after Gintoki x Tsukky and Katsura x Ikumatsu (who looks a lot like Mutsu).
when will that guy's face be revealed? So amusing that he gets vomited on @ every chance.
Sakamoto really is a swindler lol.
Mu....Mutsu!? Kagura has got a new senpai now! The stuff with fighting her own blood...
On another note, Sakamoto's glare is the coolest panel in the chapter, I half expected to see sharingan on him or something, haha.
What a great arc that was!
I never saw that twist coming!!
And now I can't wait to see Kagura and Mutsu interact in the future!
I just finished the raws for 481 and that was the weirdest thing I've ever read.
It was weird in many senses. (Actually chapter 481 was only one page long, lol)
Some romance in this manga!
And that's my favorite pairing for Gin!
That arc is going to be hilarious!
Especially if Kinpachi and Kagura are also affected by the drugs!
Maybe they'll fall for each other! That would be hilarious!
